That'd mean less people though, wouldn't it? As it was with the number of people there I reckon we had the most number of people possible working on each car at a time - and that was with two cars... Granted it depends what work is done, but a few times I was working under the car and had my legs (sticking out from under the car) gently kicked by someone working on something else...

Last year we did have a lot more space (1/3 extra at least) so it was easier to setup 2 cars being worked on with plenty of wandering space for the general public. Although there wasn't any manic grinder action going on last year!

Agree, we must remember to take our own Two Brutal spanner next time! :thumleft:

If we have one car to work on instead of two, the helpers could have more time to wander round the show. I was aware that most of you guys spent the whole day bar a little lunchtime working and didn't really get to enjoy the show. Would be nice to demonstrate the work in a slightly more organised way and also have some chill out space to allow the public to have a seat and a natter with the members while explaining the work/history of the cars.

Just my thoughts ;)

On the contrary I think we should take three or four cars (depending on the number of people we can attract to commit to coming to the show).

We need a much bigger stand too. I was falling over stuff all the time....

And a projector and screen. Some of the footage on Tim's laptop (of the MR2Challenge) was superb.

LOL didn't really get to enjoy the show?
I enjoyed the show immensely, eventhough I spent most of it under Phil's car. That was why it was so fun.
Had a wander with Oukie but being penniless at the time meant I didn't get to look for much.
Chill out area would be good though :thumleft:

Kirsty,

I was late as you know and when I turned up I wanted to get stuck in. But there was nothing for me to do. There were already too many people working on the cars in my humble opinion.

If we get the same level of interest next time, we really should take at least one more car, possibly two.

(How about mine! )

Brake conversion perhaps for Tom, he should have swapped his SCs by then, or it'll be left by the road side in a shower of supercharger internals..

Any idea when the Autumn show is (even just a month if it's not been set yet)? I'd love to attend but have a busy August & September... I'll probably actually come in the MR2 next time!!! :)

I'd agree once chris and I got the st185 calipers and front drop links on the car there was a bit of, err, wheres room to do the next bit.

It was good though

I would have to say that maybe pulling the engine apart a bit earlier on than the last 30min and maybe not spill as much oil Tom

I still think an engine change can be done in the time :D

As Kirsty has said, we had a few things that we would like to do better next time, and most of those things are what Tiamat has pointed out. I also agree that we should have 2 cars, but one just to be an example, so either a total dog or a minter, and another car that we can work on. A chill out area is essential so that tea and coffe isn't getting spilt everywhere, and we need display boards at the front so people don't feel like they have to disturb us to come and see what we are up to. But we have loads of time to discuss this!

I texted Jo too, felt guilty that we didn't win anything but I told her it didn't matter as we all had a ball and got loads done.

If I owe anyone money can they please pm me as I might not be able to check this thread every day and your request may be lost in the depths of time. I am aware of a few membership issues to sort out too, so can you also PM me if you need anything sorting out. My mobile number is in the mag if you want to ring me, evenings only please.

I did liek the two car idea looked very good - looked busy.

If doing dog and minter then need a serious project like an engine swop.

We should also look at the option of doing some of the set up on the Saturday afternoon next time, Jo wasn't aware of this option until the passes arrived on Friday - it may make things a little easier though.

I personally don't think we should try and go too crazy for the next show. If we can get some more space and try to organise a bit better and give a more professional look we'll be on to a good thing.

First thing for me is to find out the date of the next show and what else is on around that time so we can guage who's available etc.

Last year it was on the 1st of October, so I guess this year will be the 7th.
