Was it due to the fact that the sleeves were tied around your back straight jacket style....?

I too want to know when the MSN meet is - got to plan drinks / food tonight with my guest.

Right.

Kirsty doesn't know what time she'll be home. Basically everything's sorted anyway so it's not strictly necessary.

However if you are online sometime around 8 or 9 pm, whoever is online can have a little chat if we want. I'll probably be able to make it....

So catch you all later if you're about Image

Right guys, had a mare of a week both at work and with MR2 Only Mag stuff, but I stayed over at work this evening and printed out all of the display sheets for the boards for the show, all A3 in colour, on a thickish 170gsm paper, I didnt get chance to laminate them, and that would of cost a bit anyway, providing they are taken off the boards and kept clean they might even be okay for a few more events.

In all there are about 60 sheets, probably too much for the boards, so if a few of us could decide on Sunday morning what works best before we stick them to the displays, there is a good choice and selection. Ive also got some glue tabs, enough to stick them all on.

Lots more stuff turned up for the mk1 yesterday from BOK too, and some new drop links arrived, so theres lots to do, I will just bung it all in one of the cars and we can get done what is achiveable on the day, Id better get my ass over to make sure she starts tomorrow, Ive not had chance to take it out this week.

We have had an issue with the tickets, so we will all have to meet up before the show and hand out tickets etc. Anyone arriving late, please give me a call on 07903 818 040 or 07795 358 330 and I'll get to the main gate and give you your ticket.

So, 7.45am meeting at the Travelodge at Dunchurch.

Any questions from now, please call or text me as I won't get on internet most of tomorrow.

Cheers

Ok people, you are invited to the Saturday night thing, but I'm not posting up the details on a public board. Please talk to Tom (Icsunonove) or Kirsty to get the information.

Thanks very much kirsty and everyone for organizing and sorting it out. I really enjoyed it.

I don't think Tom cracking the sump off that engine with 20minutes to go was the best idea though! :D

A massive thank you to everyone who helped. You are an absolute credit to yourselves and the Mk1 Club. Also a really extra big thanks to the people that helped on Phils car, you all did a grand job.

AND a huuge thanks to Kirsty for organising it, you are a natural at this thing and I hope we can have your input at events in the future.

Its not even that big a deal that we didn't win anything, because we all acheived a lot today, and that is the most important thing. We will win next time though!!!

Also, another thanks to Anna and Alex for letting us crash their party, it was a riot!

Just got in and I'm really tired, been tired all weekend anyway so I feel terrible. The other tail pipe fell off the MR2 on the way home so we need a new exhaust now!!!

Just texted the chick (who's in Johanesburg (sp?))with:

"Show was superb! Didn't win anything, couldn't care less! Ours was by far the best stand and by quite a long way! I've bought you a little present from me to say thanks for instigating this"

Here's the little present I have bought her (oops! Explanation required. Her runabout was an old little red Renault 5. Her Mk1b is orange coloured.) She should love this!: :D

Had an excellent day guys, nice to put names to faces and meet you all, big thanks for inviting us and the track car project on the stand, and an even bigger thanks to all you guys that got so much done to the car today, more achieved in one day than we would of got done in a month of weekends! if that makes sense.

Nice to meet Stuart and see his Karmeleon!

Excellent well organised day, at a few points during the day the stand was buzzing with people and onlookers, everyone needs a big pat on the back!

Im putting together a 5 page spread in the next MR2 Only mag on today, so if anyone has any comments to add or anything to write please pm or email me, I will also be putting our photos up for viewing, Mk1 Club and IMOC are also welcome to a copy of the CD with photos on, I should get Lukes CD tomorrow evening.

On the way home the car pulled harder, stopped a lot quicker, and changed gear a lot smoother!!! having clutch fluid certainly helps!! :)

Whenever we get the car on track anywhere you guys are welcome to come along (obviously on a you bend it you mend it condition!!)

Thanks again guys!! absolutely pooped now, only just sat down

I also want to say that it was great to put faces to names today; I had a really good time, and I'm glad that everyone else did too.

Glad to hear that your car is running well Steve, I don't know what I'd have done if your brakes failed!

Thanks for organising it Kirsty - we would have won if the judges had bothered to come and have alook :eye:

lol... I did have one heart skipping moment when I had to brake from 70 ish mph to 40mph for the roadworks just before Stafford on the M6, after a momentary lack of concentration due to tiredness, but she pulled up very re-assuringly! and in a straight line :) Could do with borrowing you all on track days, mega pit lane crew! :)

I must of had half a dozen mk1 owners come over and speak to me during today that werent Mk1 club members, I did my bit for the club and pointed out the benefits!!

A HUGE WELL DONE AND THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED TODAY!!!

As everyone has already said, we had a fantastic day . . even with half of us being hungover from the Saturday night out!

Was so nice to have such a good group of guys all mucking in and enjoying it! We all know how well we did and we don't need a prize to tell us that our stand was ace! We had so many people milling around, asking questions . . and looking in awe at the volume of work we carried out! . . I say 'we', some of us were just on tea duty all day! ;)

I'll try my best to get some pics up tonight!

Again, big thanks to everyone who came along today . . . it's the people that made the day! :D
