Well im sure i can use import size lettering, it doesnt really matter what the shape and size of the plate looks like.

Take the Rover 75 that has a funny shaped plate but he lettering is standard.

I just want a plate with import lettering but with the excess white bit cut off. so its about 2/3rd's the size.

I dont really see a problem with that ??

+mot failure.

I have one which my local friendly shop kncocked up for me. If the law stop me, i would say "it was on there when i purchased the car and it went through the MOT so it should be fine". Might just get away witha warning then.

A few friends have them, and generally, the police dont mind as long as your not behaving like a knob jockey. Keep your normal size plate though for a new MOT etc.

I found this on the DVLA web site for lettering requirements for imports

http://www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/regmark ... htm#import

It mentions nothing about plate size. If the Letters fit on the plate with the correct spacing and size, surly that is Legal?

im not hot on traffice regs, but as i understand, the plate on a car must a set size, dont know what, and the letters must be in a specific 'font', and nothing else. Also, the plate must sit vertically, and not stuck on at an angle. im sure there's a traffic cop or two on here who can explain further.
