:D Sounds like a lot of fun to me, i'll be considering it for sure after my service and MOT at the end of this month. :(
I may actually be looking for a £50 car anyway after the inevitable MOT fail!

I've absolutely no knowledge of how good or bad a car is so the chances of me finding one decent enough to get me 70 miles to the start line should be interesting.

Is there a prize for winning do you think? I'd hate to see all the money wasted on kids.

Hey, K-series powered Metros are great little run-arounds! Surprisngly nippy!

Escort for 50 quid with a minidisc player seems a bargain though :-)

Excellent idea. Just got to find the right car now.
Am pretty sure that Max Power did a "turd de france" on a similar scheme but with a £1000 budget.

Just had some great news in that my father has told me there may be a big selection of cars available for me to choose from at a local car dearlership where he works. The best bit is that he tells me they usually have plenty of very very cheap bangers acquired as part exchange vehicles.

Should be some real nasty motors there so it looks like i'll be up for it!! \:D/

When i've found out more about this i'll post it here in case there's a chance anyone else can get in on the act but please, don't get your hopes up for the time being as I don't actually know what they usually do with these cars. My guess is that they get the really cheap ones dismantled at another local place where my father used to work years ago... a very well stocked scrapyard to be precise. =P~

Fingers crossed.

Well going by what i've been told, find yourself a decent sized car sales and blag yourself a part exchange bargain!!

Lets face it though, it is going to cost a bit of money but then how many weekend adventures can you go on these days that won't.

I'm budgeting for about £35 for the car [-(
£25 Entry fee
£20 insurance
£650 re-trim in leather
And an empty credit card for petrol.
The only other thing I need is a decent driver. Preferably with roadside assistance.
