cheers karam
make a dam long list mate and call them all - the only way to find best quote, whats cheap for one person isnt always going to be cheap for another

Have you actually got any ncb built up, or have you always been named on your parents insurance? If you have been on their insurance all the time then I'd have to say that you're better off buying a cheap runabout and using it for a few years to build up your no claims.... otherwise if you try and insure an MR2 straight off the bat (or anything else remotely sporty) you'll pay an arm and a leg... or two...

I'm 21 and with the elephant, they were cheapest for me as well.. Admiral insurance gave me a reasonable quote...
Also try confused.com as it searches bout 25 different insureres.
Try bell direct and adrian flux.
BTW you are going to get reamed, I have no NCB, am 25, and am paying £1700 for an unmodded mk1 n/a. BTW i got munched by my brokers, i'm ditching them in 6 months when I get my 1 year's NCB
Insurance=extortion!
I'm 21, 4 years NCB, I pay £450 with Noriwch Union on a mk1 T-bar N/A with a few mods.
Which actually seems pretty reasonable now!
Other companies that have been good to me are elephnat.co.uk and CIS.
Also have you seen this: http://www.mr2mk1club.com/insur.html?
I've never tried, but sounds promising....
