Had a laser verified 150mph at bruntingthorpe (Supra only managed 149mph a year later on the same track!)

Had an indicated 170 in the MR2 on a private road- took me a mile and a half to get to an indicated 155, then about three-four miles to get the extra 15mph. From the various Pistonheads vmax's (using timing gear) my speedo appears to be 10mph out whether I was at walking pace, or at 145mph. (and yes, I went through the timing gear at 15mph on one run).

Indicated 135mph flying the FE flag, (genuine 120!) car is geared for 124 and clearly capable, ran out of safe private track.

Small turbos - they're not big and they're not clever!

Just say NO to small turbos!

I past my mate in his astra gsi as if he was going backwards and he was doing about 150,i dont know how fast i was going because my speedo doesnt work which means no limiter.
i had 170 out of my old ford fiesta rs turbo 233bhp.

when me and my mate took the fiesta to 170mph he had hold of the dash board because it nearly fell out due to the vibrations, the engine mounts were so solid when you revved the car the whole thing shook.i think it might of had more because i had another light to go on on the 4 shift lights it must of revved to about 9000rpm at least the rev counter needle used to go round and off the scale then the lights started to light up

RS Turbo Fiesta @ 233bhp would not reach 170mph with your mods. End of.

Fastest production 'sedan' the Lotus Carlton could do 175mph, that had a 3.6ltr straight 6 engine, 24v, twin garrett t25 turbos and 6 gears.

You'd never keep up with that in a 233bhp RS Fez, have a laugh!

What the speedo clock says doesn,t mean your actually doing 170 mph,
Did you allter the gearing anyway ?

Ive had an "idicated" 172mph with me and my bro in the car.. but you can bet I wasnt doing it.....!
