Trying to get my

'2 back on the road

- got the mot and got the insurance.

Turns out i need to waste potentially 6 weeks waiting for the good old dvla to change my address on their

"computer" as i have moved whilst my

'2 was declared as SORN.

The difficulty I have is that I only have the V11 and V5C/2 documents, but these are the ones I got when i got the car back in mid

'05 and have my old address on them.

They appear to be the only docs I can find and was hoping I could use them to get the tax disc.

I also didnt have mail redirecting when I moved so I have not recevied anything whilst the car was SORN.

Went to the post office just now and they say I dont have the log book and need to apply for a new one.

It will therfore go to my old address along with the tax disc.

I need to change the address on their system first, which takes 6 weeks

- and then get a tax disc.

This isnt really an option seeing as i wanna get back into the old girl asap, and ive already started paying the insurance.

The post office said Im best off going to the local dvla place which is in preston, just down the road, to sort everything out there and then.

My mate however, says that will be a waste of time as its like A&E on a saturday morning in there with the service being dire and they wont sort anything out.

Anyone have any experience with this place in Preston and anyone got any tips for what I should do? I also have forms V62 and V10 which my mate recommended I fill in and send off, but thats gonna take ages.

Checking the dvla website is so damn confusing with loads of contradictory stuff and doesnt give me a clear cut answer to my situation.

Ringing them just gives

"we are busy" and the line cuts off.

I hate road tax.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Matt.
