LOL it's just one of those things that run and run...we're all different so lets embrace and move on

All the sites and members have their little ways, I agree the OC is more orientated to meets etc. for some reason IMOC has always been about the more technical stuff...

One thing I do disagree with is 'IMOC members build their engines and never use them'. We did do TOTB after all, we are the club that organises track days, loads of cars here have run at Santa Pod and I certainly intend to thrash the TC within an inch of it's life once it's finished.

I am member of a few car forums and have enough trouble remebering who is who on each one. I think my brain would explode if we had everyone from the OC as well.

i joined imoc instead of oc as oc didnt exist back then.

Lol .... most rebuild their engines because they break them :D

I'd say there is a more performance orientated edge to imoc where mr2oc is more for show an shine. Its just a different type of enthusiast.

Aha, the operative word being "finished" ;)

Illustrates my point nicely :D

i seem to remeber a while back that the MR2OC had a slightly stroppy notice stating that they had sent invitations to the other MR2 clubs to hold a joint meeting to form an all inclusive club.

Apparently not one of the other clubs responded by the deadline, so the MR2OC was not going to ask again!

did anyone else see this, or did i imagine it? :-k

 On a similar subject notice how the only people interested in TOTB are those whose cars "should be ready" by then, and almost certainly pull out just before the event? :D

(BTW that seems to apply to all car clubs, not just IMOC!)

It was the MR2DC that did that.

I vote no because I think its better having the seperate OC and IMOC, I think the community as a whole would lose some fun posts if they were to merge!

I post on both regularly so I guess I am "Bi-Curious!"

I don't know how we let Chris Spammon slip through the net though  :P

Back to the topic though, I would like to see all of the clubs lined up at JAE this year it would certainly make for easier viewing of all the cars.

Oi ... thats a bit harsh, I'm busting a nut trying to get my car finished. I'm fed up of public transport and having to rely on people for lifts ... lol

Block should be back tomorrow from the machinist, then the whole engine will be reassembled by the end of saturday - or atleast thats the plan.

It's because we get let down by suppliers and engine builders who completely have their own timeframe....*sigh*

Surely a merge is only needed if both Forums are small :!:

Too big sites joining would cause ppl to miss topics they were following and also missing them completely

There are more forums for the MR2 that that, cause you have ROC too .. and then a few of the US forums MR2FAQ where is very technical.

I'm mainly on TOC as we have our own MR2 section.

I basically stopped posting on IMOC as I couldn't handle the several hundred posts a day from IMOC-CHAT.

But I'm happy posting on all of them ..

You could have unsubscribed from Chat and remained on IMOC - I seem to remember you leaving because people were laughing at your questionable taste in mods ;)

www.toy .. .

Nah, I was still on the forum, but didn't wanna do a "larry" and only reply to stuff when I got home. I'm still on there, just not getting fowarded any mails.

And I KNOW I've got dodgy taste in mods .. Kinda wishing I'd never sold the 16" split rims and GT wing now

Never really got on with the OC forum, seemed too messy, but I'll post on there if I need to ..

Well they've promised me May...if it isn't May I'm going to seriously rip somebody's crown jewels off as I'm at the end of my tether with it ](*,)

Body mods are finished anyway...got me roll cage, AP brakes, Pace Rad, Sparco seats and harnesses all done so it really is just the engine now...and they've had the bits 5 months (since I sacked the first builder who had them 2 years and did NOTHING). It's fairly stressful relying on other people though...particularly when you keep getting put at the bottom of a pile that never seems to end. :x
