as far as I recall,

MK1 around 8 seconds
MK1 SC around 6.5 seconds (Jap import only)

MK2 just under 8 seconds (7.7 rings a bell...)
MK2 Turbo 5.6 seconds rev 1-2 (before 1993) 5.2 seconds rev 3+(1994 onwards) (Jap import only)

I'm sure someone here can give more accurate info.

My friend wants a mk2.....and we are looking at one/two today.

Rev 3, 1994 saw the change. An increase in BPH but slower in the 0-60 iirc?!?

Dont rely on a 3SFE having no spoiler - many were fitted after purchase

iirc the "3SFE" is printed on top of the cambelt cover.

the 3SFE is quite a torquey engine and in day to day driving not as bad as people make out. Looking at you Dale [-X

Yep, I had one years ago - to drive, upto about 5krpms they feel exactly as quick as the Mk2 NA 'GT' model. I can remember being quite unimpressed when I drove a later Rev3 NA car comapired to my MK2 NA Coupe.

the 2.2L N/A (not BEAMS) was for the american market only, 5AFE engine I think. About 138bhp(?), not sure though but definatley less than the 2.0 3SGE's

UK GT or GTi 16=2 litre non turbo
JDM GT= top spec 2.o turbo
JDM GT-s=more race spec (suspension etc) 2.0 turbo
JDM G Ltd= 2.0 non turbo top spec
JDM G=2.0 bottom spec non turbo 2.0

Most models had the same options to upgrade to GT level anyway.
Dont think japs had sunroofs. only hard top or t bar iirc

I didnt realise the BEAMS was 2.2. i thought it was just toyota's equivilent to the VTEC and variable timing with 2 litres?
