[Mk2] [Generic] Multiple Car insurance

Post by chiefymcchief »

Hi all,

Been looking at getting another car to get me to and from work. Worked out my running costs and can is the smae to run another car and keep the 2 as weekend car for the same cost as running the 2 work and back!!!

Only thing is insurance. Being quoted ridiculous premiums as NCB is taken up on the 2.

What do the guys on here who have 2 cars do for insurance?
Any companies specialise in multiple car policies?

Thanks

I have gone through A-Plan I think, or sky. You should try both.

I have full NCB on my 2, and then a seperate policy for my second car. So at the end of this year I will have a second policy to which I can start claiming my 1 years NCB. This means that in years to come I can have 2 cars, both with full NCB discount.

I used to insure my peugeot 306 through Norwich Union direct and had the MR2 on a second policy with them as well. I had full no claims discount and they allowed the discount against the second car as well.

I think most insurance companies will offer this if you ask them.

Cheers for the replies :thumleft:

Got a reasonable quote where they are gonna give me half my NCB towards new car.

Still more than i thought it would cost but worked out gonna be saving enough per year to cover the cost.

Thanks
