[Mk2] [Turbo] Not all my speakers are working

Post by pa402 »

Hi all,

I have replaced my original cassette deck with a cd player. However I can only get it to produce sound by having only the large connector bracket connected, however the sound only comes from the main door speakers.

The adapter I have (from Halfords) did say that it was not to be used for the active system. Does this mean that I have the active system?

Also is there a way of getting the other speakers to work without buying a different adapter?

Thanks

Paul

If you have speakers in the storage boxes behind the seats you have the active system, most Mr2s do. You need a different wiring adapter that uses RCA (the round jack plugs) type connectors for the speakers. Halfords can order them in, think they cost about £30 though. The other problem is not all cheap headunits have RCA outputs on the back.

Cheers,

No I dont think my headunit has those adapters as it was cheap. Well two speakers is better than none.
