Power is nothing without control... or something like that :)

I want a team packed with cars capable of 10's and 11's - we need low 12's to be taken seriously enough to get the 10 places I want.

Ideally 10's of course.

Michael,
when do we have to prove ourselves by to be granted the ten places?

Cheers Michael.

I'd aim for the end of May at the moment - I'll confirm the exact date we need to have entries in as soon as it's released :)

We'll have a new thread about this nearer the time :)

I'd like to keep this one for entry discussion if possible.

No need for that, I just didn't want to see a list of names appearing and chatter about payments at this stage :)

What about the handling course side of things? What are the selection criteria? I know I had my idea on how to handle this, just interested in yours.... :-k

Question: Can you drive your car?

Answer: Yes / No

In past years it's been very difficult to come up with a suitable way to compare potential entrants on handling, I've attempted to organise a dedicated trackday, autocross event or get in on events like Scooby Shootout at Elvington to replicate the actual setup for TOTB. Sadly people have either been against the ideas due to distance / cost or their cars haven't been ready.

If you have any suggestions please share them.

Past years have shown that no selection criteria can stop cars exploding at random or not being finished in time. It often becomes more of a struggle to fill the places than it does to restrict the number of cars taking part - hopefully that won't happen this time though.

Fire away...

I guess the best way to prove yourself here or at least have yourself taken seriously is to spend as much time out on track as possible. To a certain extent the word of the driver stating that he/she is good in terms of handling will have to be taken in good faith. If you are selected for the team and this proves to not be the case come the day, some form of beating handed out by the other members of the team should at least offer the crowds something decent to watch :clown:

Joking aside, get yourselves out there and spend as much time as possible behind the wheel of your car. It's been said before..... the Mr2 isn't going to score points even if we do break into the 10's over the 1/4 mile! That being said it would still be mighty impressive if someone did :thumleft:

I personally believe that a strong focus should be placed on the handling side of the event. After all it is here that we have done well in past TOTB events :D

As for the top speed, forget it! Their are simply too many big guns to even be slightly competitive here:(

Your thoughts Mitch?

Do you know of such a 2 that can enter? That being said it would be a bit of a one trick pony #-o

Hopefully there should be one together in the next two months! Drag and top speed should be good, how well it goes round corners will have to be seen!

Well i suspect you won't get many answering 'No' to that. Last year i offered to instruct at the haynes track... but it never came to fruition.

If i'm available (house buying/new job etc) then i'll happily help out with this if i can make it.
