[Mk2] [Turbo] sad day (crashed my car tonight) UPDATED

Post by hicks »

trying to get home from work tonight in the snow end up hitting another car.

going over a country road near my house at about 20 came to a really steep downhill section. went too touch the brake.......... BIG mistake....... back end snapped out straight away sending me sideways onto the opposite side of the road and clipped an oncoming car.

send me into spin and ended up sat backwards about 3 cars length away.

end result

Good excuse to get those vented wings from headcover and a different front bumper?! A blessing in disguise?

Mine was gettign tricky tonight, going up a very steep hill, lots of snaking. Found a nice empty car park and had some fun in that. But getting home (400ft sea level climbing to 1100ft sea level steeply) wasn't fun....

Fixable matey! :D

Yeah it does damage the driving ego. At least the car didn't get damaged with those new parts then!!

See, silver lining to every cloud with me!

Sorry to see that hicks - in these conditions your just a passenger.

I had enough of a job driving a skoda octavia let alone an MR2.... i feel for you mate.

You have to look on the +ve side and that is that its fixable - i know its extra cost but you get to keep the car instead of sending it to the crushers.

Ouch. This is why I have refused to drive my car in this weather. MR2's are just too risky in the snow and ice. I'm sure you weren't at fault mate.

Sorry to see that, i used to love driving in the snow when i had my NA, today, i absolutley hated it, scared me too much, but had to use it to get to work, nearly had 2 accidents on the way there and 1 on the way back and that was driving really carefully, the back end just goes off on its own merry way!
thank god its melting now [-o<
Whilst having these near misses i did wonder who else had come unstuck today on IMOC.

Have to say I wouldnt even consider taking mine out in the snow, even icey weather is a no no.
But I'm fortunate not to drive to work and have access to two family barges when I need them.
