MK2 V6

Post by foxy-stoat »

With all the rev3 turbos with loads more power for sale at the mo for around £4000....would anyone want a MK2 V6 for £5,000?????

Want to finance another project, so was thinking about putting the V6 up for sale.

heres the car :

Hmm.... I think you'll find it tough getting 5k to be honest. If people wanna pay 4k for a higher power turbo car, they would generally want to pay less for a "less powerfull" and non-standard car.

If you find somebody that really wants it then maybe - but it'll be tricky and may take a long while.

Pauls demo car went for peanuts really, as an example.

Would be tempted though if I didn't already have a V6, and if it was blue.

thats what i thought.....if i was in the market for a v6 and i didnt want to do the thing myself AND i didnt want to travel over 1300 miles and wait for months, then i'd snap it up like a shot !

trouble is a lot of peoples who want a v6, will want to v6 their own mr2's.

i may try pistonheads tho, may have more luck there. :-k

I see that you've had it on the rolling road. What bhp and torque did you get?
Hows the bodywork on it, what needs attention?
Any interior pics?

Lovely looking car! :D

was 187 at the fly, 156 at the wheels....torque was 170 ish i think.

doesnt sound much on paper, but its the way it delivers the power is the impressive bit

body work is in the process of been tidy'd up....got another boot lid and spoiler, the the one on it has a little rust and scratches.....the rear right arch could do with painting and round the t-bars on the roof theres some good old uk rust showing....trying to get these sorted in the next few weeks.

dont have any pics on the work pc of the interior tho. :thumleft:

<grin> ... I'd just love to collect MR2s but as you know, I already have 2 of them, so doubling up on expenses. I think you could sell the v6 a bit better to be honest Wayne, get some really nice photos, mention the sound that means you never need listen to music again it's that beautiful ... and say how rare they are, waiting list till Aug blah blah ...

There is no bull$h1t needed when talking of the V6es! :D

Here is another example of what they sound like, this is mine getting some tuition on a track. It's just a wonderful sound .. apologies for the wobbly pictures as the camera was mounted on the sun visor:

Hmm... after listening to that video clip I'm hooked :( What kind of time scale are you hoping for? I've got a wedding and a house move coming up in the next two months but I'd be seriously looking at bargaining with you after that..

That sound is gorgeous!

any test or trail welcome, not sure how far Hook is from Sussex, but if you stick in BN27 in a route planner, you can see how far away you are.
