Heading south after the race.

Update on Ferry

I just got my confirmation today regarding the change to sailing from 8am - 7am. I think I was the 1st to book so anyone who hasn't as yet received the notice of change, don't worry, you will, infact if you go into your booking on Speedferries you will see the change has already been made.

I've just spotted Frogge's confirmaton in atendance. Can I just say we are in for a treat as Frogge ( AKA Charles Fox ) and partner Celina are 2 of the Clubs finest characters, they are such a laugh when it comes down to it so were in for long nights around the campfire trying all off Frogge's finest French ales, just like last year.........eh......

Theres a couple of us possibly going to Bruges in Belgium after the Le Mans activities. The plan is to stay at the Chateau one more night and leave on the Wednesday and head to Belgium.

I've booked a room in a hotel called Ter Brugge for 2 nights and the standard cost is £138 for a double room for the 2 nights and it includes breakfast. There is the option to upgrade rooms to Superior and Delux which overlook the historic canal.

We leave Bruges Friday morning and head to Boulogne for the ferry back to Dover. It cost me £10 to ammend my booking with Speedferries from the Tuesday - Friday crossing.

PM for more details if interested in joining us.

Cheers
Michael

Ok you got me Michael.

I think it was the fact you said the beer was good and my wife would like the chocolate.

This is going to be one hell of a trip

Scotland, England, France and Belgium.

You'll love Brugge. A fine medieval city. There was a splendid Irish bar just off the main square last time I visited.
Brillint food & Belgian beers are amongst the best.

Frogge,

You were almost in danger of stringing a sentence together without mentioning '' beer ''

You almost had me there for a second. No doubt myself and Shane will be probing you about the city ( and the beer )

Thanks for the early tip off's.............

HAVE YOU BOOKED YOUR TICKETS GUYS

You really do need to start thinking about doing this, remember you wll need a reserved parking pass in '' WHITE '' car park, I have chosen this for 2 reasons

1 Its right in front of the main entrance so you can easily nip back to the car for refreshments, beer, wash down, sleep ( did I mention that word, sorry )

2 Its reserved so it eliminates the chaos on race day finding a spot in the unreserved BLUE, RED and GREEN parking areas.

Ok get your tickets fronm www.justtickets.co.uk ring them up and book over the phone, you will get receipt and booking confirmation a few days later with tickts arriving a couple of weeks before we go.

Its £33 for the parking which validates a reserved plot for the whole duration of the Le Man week which is Tuesday - Sunday and £56 for the general entrance which again gets you inside the circuit Tuesday - Sunday ( including qualifying and Friday pitlane walk about )

I strongly advise to pre book your tickets and have them before you go, last year was the largest Le Man turn out of spectators 300000 people all wanting tickets so get the NOW..................

Also think about travel insurance and more importantly check your car insurance will cover you in France. You will also need some kind of breakdown cover, don't think it wont happen, it will. I broke down on the French A1 2 years ago, 4 lanes of speeding trucks, not a nice experience. The alternator holding bracket snapped as there was too much load on it doing 120mph, instantly no water pump, not good, fortunately we were covered with the AA and within 2 hours we were back on our way to Calais so get some cover.

Don't worry about it you know what Domonique is like, he will eventually email you confirmation but to be honest we could all just turn up on the day and get a spot somewhere.
