Supercharger help

Post by excalibur1814 »

Hello again,

 <a href="http://www.baconlove.co.uk/Pictures/Gal5Mr2/Mr2.htm">Go Here</a>

I have just received a nice old Supercharger engine and hopefully all the bits needed to complete the transplant. I've posted in here instead of Mechanical so I hope you do not mind!

Questions:
1 Would anyone here be able to let me have any wiring diagrams as there are quite a few wires!
2 Can anyone tell, by the pictures, if I have the larger pulley?
3 Do I have larger donwpipes than standard?
4 Is the intercooler up to the task?
5 Should I purchase the nice blue hoses from fensport?
6 Which engine do I have?
7 Gearbox. I think I will use mine but then again I do not know which box is on the engine? If it is an SC gearbox I suppose it would be better to use that one?
8 I have the JR induction filter but would anyone suggest a better filter etc?
9 Oil filter. Does this engine use the same filter as the NA? I have a sports filter from Fensport and it would be nice to use it.

I now have three engine covers so one of them can beaten into submission for the intercooler. I'm looking forward to all this even if I do not know exactly what I have at this moment and apologise for asking questions based on pictures.... :|

Thank you very much and wish me luck!
Damian

if you use the SC box you are going to need SC driveshafts.

1.club4ag for wiring diagrams.
2.nope defo standard pulley
3.probably its aftermarket so you'd have to measure them.
4.yes i should think so. suck it and see.
5.up to you
6.AE92/AE101 Levin engine >1990
7.you'll need driveshafts, incredibly hard to find. stock box is fine. only worh putting in an SC box if it has LSD. otherwise too much hassle.
8. K&N
9.yes. but use the longer one.

Oil Cooler

Post by excalibur1814 »

Ih the risk of sounding silly, where the heck is the oil cooler? Or is it an all in one unit like the Ren 5 Turbo?

It's looking like I should have purchased all the stuff from Fensport now as the price is looming quite close after I add the pulley on top.

The oil cooler is on the cabin bulkhead on the O/side low down. Its a tube type thingy as its water cooled rather than air cooled.

If you have a GZE engine in japland they didn't have oil coolers so you'll need to swop over a sump from an NA engine.

:P Lauren, fancy making some money?

My step father is a good mechanic but when it comes to most things not Ford, he can struggle.. But gets there in the end...

If I get everything I need and the engine more or less in the car, how about £250 to come along and help out...... You being the expert around here and all!

Thanks 8) (Being cheeky I know!)

Where in North Wales?

Anglesey isn't good, somewhere near the border isn't too bad.

Sorry about that.

St.Asaph. In the middle between the border and Anglessey.

Literally twelve metres next to the A55

Does anyone have the Workshop manual for the 4agze SC Mk1 engine? Just looked through E-bay.co.uk / .com and found nothing. I know a member used to offer a subscription but due to ebay they no longer do.

I would love to have a copy / version! =P~

Oh

Next IMOC mini "how to" meet.....but I would say that as I'm just in Warrington.

I'm odd and have done a SC to NA conversion (but the SC was broken and one day it will get fixed and put back in), my first point of advice if doing an engine swap would be to get the back end in the air as high as possible, see pic's

esp picture number : RIMG0522m

Cheers
