Mk1 1988 Mr2

Hi there,i'm from the mazdarotaryclub.com and i'm currently rebuilding my rx7 so i bought a cheap mr2 as a runaround till its finished.
I've only got a few bits left to do so i have no need for the mr2 and there is too many cars on the driveway.
I was going to run it till mot runs out(May) then sell it for any money offered but this needs to go asap

Its a 1988 mk1 mr2 t-bar 137000 miles
Considering age it hasn't got aload of rust around the arches.
It looks like its been re sprayed by the seller before me but he/she ain't done the best of jobs.
I've had no problems with the engine during the 3/4 months of owning it.


Its just started to pop out of 5th gear 2 week ago but as i only use it on short journeys so it didn't bother me.
Would be good for anyone wanting spares(i could break it but haven't got the time cos of work and finishing the Rx off) or a project car.
I was told be the last owner its just had a oil and oil filter change and i did fit new spark plugs about 3 month ago.
The roof has started to leak too with all this bad weather but only if stood for a couple of days.
The exhaust has rusted and needs changing.
All this i ain't been bothered about fixing as it was only a cheap runaround till rx is done.
The interior is in good condition considering age,taxed till Feb

Was wanting £400 but open to offers as it needs to go asap.
If this doesn't sell i might just strip some parts of interior then scrap the body and engine and but a few bits on ebay,i ain't got time to remove engine or any body pannels lol
Sorry if i've just come on here to sell the car but i thought More mr2 owners would want parts more than mazda owners.

i've just got in,fella.
I read ya pm at work but couldn't reply as i don't have long enough at the comp at work.
I will try and get more photos but the problem is that i work during the day and don't use the car so its always dark outside.Only time during the day i can get pics is sat/sun.

Yup - sent a PM to K27-Rx earlier and forgot to post here. My daily driver has come up with a few issues yet again and I rely on it so it needs to come first...
Look forward to seeing it at one of the Kent Run meets Wayne!

I wanna do a (rev3) .5 or v6 conversion on this mk1....strip it out for the track kinda thing when funds allow.

I will prob have a rev3 engine in a few months or i'll source another V6.

Gonna be a summer project type thang !

Sweet! I like the plan! To be honest, it's not a million miles off from the plans I had either! (20V or V6) But it looks like I'm gonna have to wait a bit longer...

drove it back to sussex today......300 miles in 4th gear and no exhaust.....wonder how many countys i broke the anti social noise laws on the way back !

let the 1.5ing commence !!!
