I thought it was very strong indeed. It seemed to go very well when I drove it at Cadwell and Donington

Abosulute nothing that I can see.

It was an idea for the show. I suppose its not really worth it in that way, but its something a bit different

Well I wouldn't change it then. It is the only 4AGE that seems to be "Tim Proof" :clown: :eye:

And I thought it went very well indeed....

I am sure someone has a car with a busted engine and would appreciste it being changed FOC

Hello all, not had access to the internet for a while so sorry for the late post, but I'll be available on the 11th, and have a car which needs any amount of stuff doing to it. Maybe even a decent burial by then

Stick me down as a helper, and if you need a car too it can be arranged. Doesn't need an engine swap though, that's the only sound bit.
Hmm. Maybe we could leave the engine in place and swap the entire car round it. :-k

Happy to help with a swap, done a gearbox, and hey it's only one more engine mount eh? :)

So, I'm in. Sorry it took so long to confirm but I can really only have every other weekend off at the moment. Going to this means that I will not be able to go the Boxhill run the week before... But I was hoping to do this for a while now - any chance to learn a bit more about the Mk1 is fantastic!
I'm now not sure if I'll have my Mk1 though - would I still be able to come in the daily runner? (I don't know if I'll have time to get the Mk1 on the road prior to March at the moment - but will be working on her next weekend so should know for sure after then)

I'm afraid I still can't offer any time to organise and given my current car situation (a couple of other complications at the moment) I actually can't offer my car anymore even for a small job - as nice as it would be to get all the small bits fitted... I'll probably have to tackle those some other time.

I've updated Jo's list with everyone else who said they were coming. Sorry if I've made a mistake somewhere... Tim, you've discussed the car coming, but how about you? :)

ok - the list of people so far who can come on the day:

Tom
Tiamat
cartledge
Limey
Kirsty
Unleash
monkeymax
mart1975
Kaiowas
Mk1Chris
Karl_T

pre event organisation

Tom
Jo
Tiamat
(Kirsty)

Need:
A Car!!!

It can be a small project, or do some of a large project if the car can br trailered to and fro.

You don't need to come in a Mk1 Max, all but the show car's get left in the car park. The show is indoors BTW so reasonably warm.

Cheers Chris - I thought so. But I just wanted to clarify it.
Just not sure what the situation will be with my Mk1 at the moment...

Well i'll be coming in my track car anyway, and i'll stick a load of the 'things to do' in the boot just in case we get stuck for something to do.

I have a mate who needs an engine swapped in a red mk1b, only trouble is, the engine to go in is still in another car, but like i say, my gold one is ready for some fun restoration type things. I've got 2 new front wings to fit and paint and the two rear wings which have been welded on need tidying up and painting. Just need someone to get it there.

Blimey! I think were going to need a bigger stand! :D

It was a great event last year and to win 2nd prize for our stand (thanks to G and J's hard work), well, it just put the icing on the cake! :thumleft:

Attendees:

Tom
Tiamat
cartledge
Limey
Kirsty
Unleash
monkeymax
mart1975
Kaiowas
Mk1Chris
Karl_T
DavidJ
Anna
Speedy?
Shish
Lauren?

Pre Event organisation

Tom
Jo
Tiamat
(Kirsty)

Possible Projects:

Tom - Preparation work prior to respray / changing T-bar seals
Mk1Chris - Turbocharging his 4AGE engine!  / engine swap / fitting new front wings / tidying up rear wings
Anna - Welding (what needs welding Anna?) / respray

Stuff we'll need (or might need):

Transit Van (ideally wiith toe hook)
Car trailer ?
Engine hoist ?
Display boards (current at Stuart Kynochs I think, Leicester)
Air Compressor - Tom
Air Tools - Tom
Hand tools
Welder - Mark (Shish)

errrrm, what else????

Has anyone got access to a Transit Van and car trailer they could borrow? (Ideally you would not be a million miles away from Leicester - where the large display boards are kept)

And an engine hoist, anyone got one we could borow (i don't)?

My estate and A frame is around if needed.

TCC21 (Tom) his dad has an engine crane that we could borrow (its the one I do everytime an engine change is due), but i think its still attached to the plane hes building in his shed at the moment.

I'll try and find out

I could possibly borrow an engine crane that's large enough for the 4AGE and can be disassembled. I'll ask my friend - borrowed it before so should be fine if it's not going to be in use! :)
So that's a backup - and I can bring it easily if the '2 doesn't come...

No worries about tools. I have an engine crane, compressor, ten tonne press, generator, full selection of axle stands, jacks, welder... the list goes on.

They are all available for use, but need picking up from loughborough in leicester where i live.

If i dont take my '2 i can fit a lot in my trusty VW saloon. Just let me know what we need and i'll sort it.

:!: without this the satnd can't go ahead - as this is a 'display' stand we need the display boards to be there.

I can't give the final go-ahead for the club booking without knowing we can get stuff there.
If soemone want to look into hiring one, then thats great - quote needed, but should be okay for the club to fund :thumleft:

[-o< at the help that has come forward, but remember i can only get 10 free entry passes, so first come first serve etc
