[Mk2] [Turbo] Your opinion on my Tubby's value please.

Post by alias »

Hi,

I may have to sell my tubby in the next couple of months, so was wondering if anyone would like to comment on what they think it is worth?

The spec is....

1997 Rev 4 GT T-Bar Turbo
92K miles.
BIMTA Certificate for import mileage (of 76K IIRC).
Chassis number to match date of manufacture.
Service history from Toyota since import.
Oil changed by myself every 3 months (Mobil 1) and only run on Optimax/Vpower with receipts to prove.
Any work done since I had it, has been done at Rogue Systems.

Pagid fast road pads all round with less than 2k miles on them.
Mongoose exhaust. - New last summer.
Apexi Power Filter. - New last summer.
TB Developements downpipe. - New last summer.
Magnecor leads. - New last summer.
Cat removed.
Blitz DD dump valve.
Apexi AVCR Boost Controller.
Speedhut reverse el-glow dials. - New last summer.
MOMO steering wheel. - New last summer.
Carbon Fibre dash inlay. - New last summer.
MOMO gear knob. - New last summer.
17" Enkei Pro1 wheels in blue trim - magnesium lightweight. (Very light!)
Rogue blue turbo pipes. - New last summer.
Clifford IG950 alarm & immobiliser (Turbo timer is incorporated within alarm, but remote start is disabled for CAT 1 cert).
Speedo has been de-limited, and radio can be used here.

DVD/CD touchscreen. Original item from Japan, complete with Jap Sat Nav. Sat Nav is useless here, but cool jap lady voice can be heard. Plus TV (aerial in the windscreen), but needs a tuner for our frequencies, if possible? never lookied into it. Just used it for DVD/CD/Tuner.
Garaged every single night without fail.

Dyno sheet to prove before (246bhp) and after (297bhp) mods.

Will sell with 12 months MOT, a few months tax, and brand new Toyota service.

I thought around 6k ish is a fair price, in a month or 2 when spring is on the way? IF I can bear to part with it that is, which, circumstances allowing will not be the case, but if I have to.....

Thanks for any opinions.

Thanks for the comments. I am not greedy, so I think 6K is fair, what with the mileage. Pretty good chance it will be available in the next month or two, so if anyone is on the look out for a quality, very f'in quick, cherished Rev 4, watch this space.

Hi fella,

Had to buy a smaller runaround to commute, and with the new job, I am not going to get to use it, basically.

Gutted, because you know how sweet it is, but it is just going to sit in the garage otherwise. Shame isn't it.

Hope your well.... 8) not seen you about lately, but it has hardly been nice enough for a spin, eh?

Yeah the weather has been a bit crap!

I'm guessing that you finished your course..hence the new job?

Not using mine as much in recent weeks...I'm living closer to work so I'm catching the bus in.

I do go for a blast on Sundays usually past your way.

Shame to sell it as it's such a nice car. Great condition, smooth and powerful, who ever get to buy this will have a cracking car.

All the best with the sale and let me know if you're up for some events this year.

I agree, i had mine up for sale for over 2 months, originally at £6k then down to £5400 with no takers at all. These MR2 Turbos are not worth as much as people think. btw mine is a 1996 rev4 Turbo. I've decided to keep mine now.

I really love this car.
Pointless post I know but I just think it needs to be said that the wheels set the whole car off a treat!
I'll see how well my 10th Anniversary N/A does on ebay come Sunday, and I might make you an offer...
