What makes the MR2 ? - trying to convince a 911 driver

Post by CosmosblueMR2 »

all,

one of my friends has a Carrera 2 tiptronic convertable 911 (non turbo)

he insists it's the best thing since sliced bread and also insists on knocking my MR2 and my friends 300+ bhp 200sx - as they a "crappy toyota plastic cars" - probably because it cost him £52k

it sounds like a bag of spanners on idle and is as heavy as the Iffel Tower - even the interior - although supposedly full leather - LOOKS like cheap plastic immitation leather.

for example:
"we are talking about your rubbish "TURBO!!!!!" car
Attn: All nissan and toyota owners
YOU CANT POLISH A TURD - FACT
"

please help this sad sad man see the error of his ways.

ps. his "other car is a 1.1 Vaxhaull Corsa Breeze"- see i told you he knows NOTHING about cars !

I'd rather hava 911 than a tubby, i'm not a big 911 fan though ;)

I wouldn't bother getting into an argument. Basically it just turns into "whatever current car i own is better than the current car you own" type argument, which is pointless, childish etc.

no but i just like to wind him up as you can get a whole lot of car for £52k - a whole lot better than his "auto" na 911 !

For £30k you can get a nice M5, DB7 or even a Ferrari 348.... my boss has a Porsche Carerra (dont know what model) and he paid £65k for it, he saw my new Supra Aerotop yesterday which i parked next to his and his car was no longer the king of the car park!

Its a very nice car but theres alot better out there for that kind of money!

You don't need a soft top porsche to pull.

Your MR2 will out accelerate his porsche at least to 60mph.

Having the porsche means driving round most of the time in a pathetic corsa, wherea you drive the MR2 any and everywhere.

It will prove that all that leather interior doesn't count for sh*t.

It was simply a light spirited comment which you obviously took too seriously.

hahaha who's arguing? theres nothing wrong with having a little debate

All im saying is 1/4 mile times dont prove a car is good or bad. It's the whole package that should be looked at. Quality, desirability, the handling, even 1/4 mile / speed. But you can't just prove it by doing one thing!

I appreciate this and obviously the 911 wins hands down but as I said, my comment was said light heartedly.

I do not appreciate flippant remarks.
