IMOC user "biteme"

Post by CosmosblueMR2 »

"Biteme" Are you still around ?

I'm still awaiting my money you stole from me via PAYPAL for goods you then decided to keep (along with my money)... assuming you had any goods in the first place.

For you to sign up to a comunity like this and subsequently rip people off is not on.

Fello IMOC users - please note that this user "biteme" puts items for sale on the forums - and using PAYPAL accepts your money transfer, transfers the money from his paypal account to his own personal a/c and then gives Paypal a sob story that someone else has taken the money.

Despite various emails and even replies on this Forum from "biteme" to try and give an impression that he is genuine - the fact remains that you still withdrew the funds from your paypal account - and so now Paypal cannot return funds to me as your account is now empty.

If you spot this user placing goods for sale again please report to the site's admin / mods.

rant over

Sorry to hear youve been ripped off Frank. Have you tried contacting your bank to file a fraud report? I know credit card companys normally have insurance for this and pay you back. I was ripped off by a breakers yard last year and even though I paid with a debit card my bank (barclays) still refunded the money to me.

I have given "richard allen" (bitme) 7 days to reply to an email - if no reply I have instructed the Cr card company to act.

I wish you had come straight to the admins... I helped someone else in a similar situation get a refund.

If you want PM me the full story and we can look into it.

Your Pay Pal account is credit card linked. Pay Pals agreement is with them therefore if they cant retrieve your money from 'biteme' your CC firm can retreive it from pay pal. I am fairly confident that this is the case.

If you uprate your paypal account you can pay direct from your current account - LUCKILY i didn't do this before i paid him the money - so yes it is now in the hands of the Cr card company

Just an update and a warning to people who think Paypal is a secure way of transfering money - it is to transfer but if they (seller) then take your money and run they (paypal) can do NOTHING.

"Dear Frank Galloway,

We have concluded our investigation into the following Buyer Complaint:

Case ID: PP-069-933-865
Transaction Date: 28 Feb 2005
Transaction Amount: -225.00 GBP
Seller's Email: [email protected]
Seller's Name: Richard Allan

After careful review, we have determined that the seller is at fault but
regret to inform you that we were unable to recover any funds from the
seller's account. As stated in the PayPal User Agreement, recovery of funds
associated with a Buyer Complaint cannot be guaranteed.

If this transaction took place on eBay, we encourage you to contact eBay to
determine if you qualify for partial reimbursement under eBay's Standard
Purchase Protection Programme. If this transaction took place on another
auction site, we encourage you to contact that site to see if they offer
insurance or dispute resolution.

We appreciate your business and apologise for any inconvenience this
situation may have caused. Please know that we will make our best effort to
recover the funds in question if they become available in the seller's
account in the future. Please also be assured that we will take appropriate
action against the seller. Such action may include issuing a warning, a
temporary restriction, or terminating the account. Keep in mind that PayPal
uses a number of factors to determine when to take action, including member
complaints. Due to privacy laws, we cannot discuss the details of any
action taken. We hope you understand our policy and that it reassures you
that you are safe using PayPal
. "

are they trying to wind me up with the last line ??!?!

anyone know of a way to locate this Richard Allen (probably a bogus name as it's shortened to "dickall" on my cr card statement hahaha

Whats that statement about if funds become available in his account, they will try and retrieve your money? So someone else pays this guy and all of the sudden he gets no money, but you get the money....leaving the person who put the cash in the account with now money?? surely thats not right??

The person who put money into the fraudster's account won't have any money anyway because they'll have bought something (hopefully).
Paypal will take the money from the fraudster. (Unfortunately that money will likely come from another victim).

The "dickall" on your credit card statement is simply the first seven letters of the email address linked to his eBay account, it's usually what you see on your CC statement. I must admit though, it's a fair description of what you got.
Hope you have better luck with the CC company.

I wonder how he'd feel if every member sent him a polite email asking him to give you your money back? No aggro, just a nice polite email.

paypal is a xxxx con, they dont safeguard anyone. basically they close down the account so no one else can pay into it either and if they do, that money stays with paypal to be divided out against those who have already made a claim.

one day, im gonna sort paypal out for good. luckily i've not been scammed yet, but i have had a couple of close calls where the users themselves have given me the money back. all paypal do is send them menial threats!

Shaft..... They almost took me to court for being a seller who had recieved fake CC money, taken it into my account in good faith and then had my account locked and put at -800. I had to call USA, send solicitor's letter etc etc

They suck, they con and they help frauds and persecute real people. I lost my laptop and a lot of money because of them. I HATE THEM. ((But I still use them -under a new name)) Damn the fact eBay only has them as a preferred payment method.
