LOL... bound to be a guy... ie ego etc (nobody overtakes me type thing). ;) I never assume anything.

Tbh i'm sick and tired with the crap driving and lane discipline i see whenever i go on the road. I'm also sick of people who don't move over to the correct lane, just because i've come up behind them. I wasn't dropped there by god, there is a reason why i've caught another car up, why do people have to have such an issue with letting you past?

Anyways, I soon get bored of waiting for someone to pull over so i can overtake, so i'll undertake. I don't really care, there is nothing illegal about undertaking and why should i just sit there because some ignorant sod won't pull over?

Er, since when has undertaking ever been legal... [-X ](*,)

It is only legal to "overtake on the nearside" when you are on a duel lane 1 way system and the person you wish to pass is turning right

I think both drivers are at fault here-the BMW driver is a hand jockey for not stopping-regardless of whether he "thought" the guy in the '2 was ok-even if he was late for a meeting...that is his fault-and agree'd with the buy a better watch comment posted earlier.!

I do fail to see how someone can be that much of an arrogant willy if you may have "indirectly-possably aided for someone to have had an accident-he was ovbiously driving slower and more sensibly than you were for you to have caught him up in the first place. Try to have a little more patience in future-you may have come across quite intimidating sitting up his sh1tter!

Also-In my oppinion, you need to get out more..Honestly. Searching the web just in case there was a website called "international MR2 owners Club" and posting of your "personally ammusing arrogance".

I'll give you this though..Your very Brave :| :eye:

Undertaking is legal if the outer lane is travelling slower than the inside lane. Indeed if your ever in a position to be undertaken it means your in the wrong lane.

Knobby.

The bloke said it was a guy. He also said he looked fine.

Only person to blame/ was a bit of a prat was MR2 driver

a) failed to let car that caught him up pass
b) decided to put the power down to try and race faster moving BMW
c) obviously poor driving "skilz" as he booted it out of a roundabout to early spinning off the road, if anyone else was about he could have taken them out as well.

Anyone who drives like this deserves to be laughed at by the innocent party. Sounds a low speed accident with no car rolling, hitting wall/ trees etc just a spin off the road almost impossible to sustain an injury event and indeed they guy said he looked fine. Maybe he should have stopped wound down his window shouted are you ok, wait for the guy to sheepisly say yes then drive off, but thats all. He was no part of the accident, if your not involved you are under no obligation to stop.

If you read the post you'd see that I wasn't quoting "knobby". I was pointing out that Lauren automatically assumes that any lane-hogger that forces her to undertake has to be a "guy".

You are required to stop if either you witness an accident or if you are the first car on the scene of an accident so that you can give a witness report to police.
Although I would guess he would be a bit reluctant to do so in case he got accused of 'racing' with the damaged party.

What a loser!

Post by Big Maka »

I personally think it's both of their faults! it's the arrogant BMW drivers fault for tailgating the MR2 driver and the MR2 drivers fault for not slamming his breaks on in the first instance and then claiming on the BMW's insurance!!

Everyone has there day's where they have little 'instances' where they don't drive as well as they should and this could be down to one of those, on the MR2 drivers fault! but he/she did decide to put it down on an island, he could have just trundled on minding his own business!!

think the Law would have been on the MR2 drivers side in this situation and think the BMW driver is a big jockey for coming onto here and wouldn't want to put what he deserves!!!!!

Think that is aweful. You mean that I could guide someone of into the central reservation and just as long as I don't hit them or make contact I don't have to stop - rubbish!!!

Even if it isn't law, compassion to fellow man should have come into play! I wouldn't have been able to sleep that night with the thought the guy was lying in the ditch!!! different people I suppose! [/quote]

Yeah, good one ](*,) And all the others cars insurances behind and to the left of them, and all the lives that might have been lost. I hope you were joking?

Big Maka wrote:think the Law would have been on the MR2 drivers side

Why, he would not be able to prove the BMW was up his ar$e. The MR2 driver lost control of his car, on his own. If he decides to take the bait then fine, but you have to take the consequences that might arise. Every now and again I have a play with another car, but don't drive out of my ability. I back off if it starts to get silly.

Lauren, love the hypocritical lane discipline remark,

FWIW I think Knobby is a knob for taking the time to gloat about another's misfortune. IMO he should have stopped as well. He should still drive a BMW, it suits his stereotypical attitude

Was joking about the slamming on the brakes thing but it looks like it's the only thing that will get through to knobby!! if someone did do that to him then you could guarentee that he wouldn't be tailgating anyone anymore!!

The Law would take the side of the MR2 driver purely on the fact that the BMW driver left the scene!! if he was innocent he would have stopped checked everything was ok (all of what 1 minute to get out the car and say - you ok mate? not hard!) and then trundled of to his meeting! also depends on how they went around the roundabout? If the BMW was tailgating him all the way round and the guy was young and inexperienced then he may have made a mistake!!

Still think he should have made sure the guy was okay.
Looking fine and being fine can be two different things.
Shock and adrenaline can mask a hell of a lot of pain / injuries.

I can vouch for that-i had my leg smashed to bits in a bike accident (not my fault i may add-he oulled out on me  ) but the adrenaline i was filled with enabled me to carry on riding my bike another 9 miles to work with a "jelly leg". it wasn't untill i got to work that i burst out into tears as i realised half my leg was hanging off. 8-[

Reading all this i think there are 2 parties at fault.

The BMW driver shouldn't have been Tailgating
When he witnessed an accident he should have stopped to make sure everyone was ok
Accidents are not funny regardless of circumstances and they are not something to laugh at with your friends and gloat about

The MR2 driver shouldn't have hogged the "fast lane"
Even if he did get fed up with the BMW up his ar$e he still should not have taken the bait
He should have driven more responsibly and learned more about the car.

They were both at fault for different reasons but one thing is true. This guy is a hand jockey for putting it accross the way he did and openly gloating about it.
