[Mk2] [NA] Clifford Concept 300

Post by massari »

hit standing water and noticed my stereo was making a buzzing sound through the speakers... parked up and my clifford concept 300 made 4 beeps indicating something was open. nothing was.

When i got back to my car the alarm was screaming, it wouldnt disable! I drove it off home! After an hour and a half of driving I was fed up with it! So I cut the cable to the speaker, this was a really bad thing to do because it shut down the whole car! Any ideas on how I can get the car going? I cant even use the 2 buttons inside the car to put it on valet mode, although when i put the key in the car the electrics turn on, it just wont let me start the car.

Any help welcome, thanks

did you reconect the wire to the alarm speaker?

is the alarm indicator light on or flashing?

when you turn the key in the ignition, do you get the warning lights on the dash?

when you say the cars dead, do you mean the imobiliser is stoping it from starting, or nothing in the car is working?

Absoloutely everything is dead :? ...the day I cut it, it seem like just the immobilzer was active, as the aircon still worked, and the lights on the dash seemed to work etc, but the next afternoon when i went to reconnect the siren, everything was dead
thank you for your reply!

the clifford alarm wont cause complete power cut off.
but having the alarm siren disconected will cause the immobilzer to say on, (security measure, so theifs cant just disconect the siren before the alarm is activated)
this is probably what happened first.
maybe your battery is dead now, drained over night, can you check it with a volt meter.

kind of the same thing happened to me on an old Micra.

Charged up the battery and nothing people has advised works :? ... the Technicar in Sheffield is going to reenable it costing £80, they say all they need to do is change a fuse! So ill watch them do it and then advise all :D

Thank you

have you checked all the usual fuses in the car itself, there are square green high power fuses with a clear plastic top, in the fuse box on the front passenger wing. one of those stopped my car from starting before and i thought it was my alarm/immob
