I'm not sure if I understand the logic.
Why pay 10k for a rev5 turbo (if you can actually find one) when you can pay 5k for a rev3 turbo that does exactly the same job?
What I'm trying to say is, what's attracting you to buying a rev5 turbo in particular?
Styling? Elitism?

Just curious....

I'm not sure that you can import Rev 5 Turbos again yet. You would need to ask one of the importers (like Miguel at Newera) whether you can import a 1998 one. I would think you couldn't get a 1999 one yet.

There are only 5 colours with rev 5 (red, white and black, plus new colours of purple and orange, more bronze, which are much rarer).
There are only a handful of Rev 5 turbos in the country and the last advert I saw was for a late 1998 purple one and this was just under £12K.

There are very few Rev 5 Turbos in Japan let alone here compared to Rev 3s because the production runs were much smaller. For instance only 342 MR2s both NA and Turbo (all variants) were produced in 1999.

So the likelihood of getting a T-Bar is far less possible. Getting a GT will be even more difficult. Getting a GT T-Bar.....well.

Getting a rev5 GT T-bar will be very difficult indeed, and you might have to relax on colour...but is doable. Try Tom at NVI.

I'm yet to see in person or on the internet, a rev5 GT Turbo with a T-bar roof.
I've seen about five in total with every one being a tintop.

if i had 10k to spend on a car i'd also be considering a rev5 tubby
keep the rev3 as a track car, strip it out etc, and a fully optioned, low mileage rev 5 as daily driver
even at 10k, there are still no cars that match the performance of the tubby

Cheers guys for the replies.........

I had a 1997 rev4 GT T-Bar which i sold last may, believe you me i would not of sold her if it was not for the 430miles aweek i was doing.

But a new Job means i now do all that mileage in a company car, fuel paid..... etc.

So I thought what could be better than what i had !!!!!!!!
