Couple of pics while it's sunny. 470 miles on it so far. 530 to go before it's mapped. :thumleft:

Enjoy...

Love the street fighter look ur going for there very aggressive

I can imagine how much weight u have saved there with the engine lid, bonnet and bootlid...prob about the weight of a small kid.

Do u still keep a spare wheel in the frunk? Heard if u take it out it inbalances the car...correct me if im wrong im jus curious.

Yeah, it's saved a shed load of weight Ant. You wouldn'ty believe how much the boot and the bonnet weigh (engine cover was only light anyway, but the carbone one IS lighter). I think Toyota must have made them from old 2nd world war battleship steel or summat!

Never heard that about the spare wheel. Don't even have one any more, and even if I did.... It wouldn't fit. The brakes are too big! Spose I could always limp home on a disk.

The only thing I keep in the frunk, is the battery, and that's being swapped out for a race one coz it's lighter.

OMG... I hadn't seen pictures of the car with those SSR's on yet  Incredible!!

EDIT: What sort of brakes are you running, they look huge!

EDIT2: What specs are the wheels? Diameters, widths, offsets... tell me! :D

Nice car earl, looks :thumleft:

Only things I would change if it were me would be the stock turbo lid and a spoiler.

Keep up the good work man 8)

Cheers Edwin! :thumleft:

Glad you like the wheels. I looked at a couple of different types, but chose these as there's virtually none of them in the country, and they make the car look quite agressive. They're also incredibly light.

The brakes are from a company called HiSpec Motorport.

http://www.hispecmotorsport.co.uk/

They're 335mm drilled and grooved disks all round, with 4 pot billet alloy callipers (it's called the Monster 4 kit) on the front, and new Rev 2 callipers on the back, spaced accordingly. This mod gets around having to fiddle with the handbrake mechanism on the rear.

Stopping power is unbelievable. It makes your eyes bulge, and actually hurts your face when braking hard!

I'm still undecided about the spoiler. I've got a Rev 5 with a carbon centre being delivered any time now, but I really like the GT wing look, and I know it would suit the car down to the ground, but it's getting the right one...

Anyway, glad you guys like it. :thumleft:

Looking at it again, I even think that the engine lid may work better with the rev 5 carbon blade or a carbon GT wing.

Just my 2 pence mind :)

Earl mate that's about the sexiest MR2 I've seen. And it's not all talk and no balls like so many kitted cars either.

You've done well!

looks bloody sweet dude....

have to agree with the comments regarding the boot.... :?
i think a nice old rev1/2 spoiler would look ace with a red boot lid!!!!! (altho i take it you removed that spoiler yonks ago, lol)...

love the height, wheel width/offsets, pretty dam perfect!

shame you didnt put that tyre shiner stuff on! rims and car woulda looked 5% better in the photos, lol...

Each to their own mate. I really like the carbon/red combo. The Ask Sport boot lid that's on there is so light, that we had to remove the boot spring! When you opened the trunk from inside the car, it nearly smashed itself against the engine cover! It's approximately a third of the weight of the original!

I didn't really like the old Rev 1/2 spoiler, which is why I had it removed. I really like either the Rev 5 or a decent Carbon GT wing (which is probably what will be fitted, when I can find a nice one).

All in all, I'm pretty happy with they way it looks. Just a few things left to do: Black mesh the apatures in the front bumper, fit the rear spoiler, fit the Ask Sport Bonnet when it comes back...

...and get it mapped. :thumleft:

Then roll on TOTB!!

EarL.

BTW. Tyres aren't supposed to shine Jim. Use black boot polish. Much better.

Yeah, it was one of my influences when building it.

Not a great lover of the TRD though.

I was considering having the roof done black too, but the general consensus said that it would look crap.
