Has any one got any opinions on the Piper cams for the the turbo.

Was wondering as there a good price and maybe another good engine upgrade.

That's what's in the beast mate 264 in & ex). If Andi has specced them over the HKS items, they can't be bad. :thumleft:

developed with dino and piper - there are some RARE ones floating around which dino had made specifically(i think mr gidden now has these for someone) they are supposedly silly lift/duration.

Heard piper were the best remember reading it here some where a while back was it to do with them being fully custom built made from billet to the
specific 3sgte and or excellent profile?

Well suppose there a reason why top tuned mr2's use them?

Piper 264s work well with turbos, as do the HKS items. Turbos need lift as opposed to duration...

I do have a pair of Dino's cams which are currently part of larger head project..

Who? :D

All the fast MR2's around the world seem to cope quite well with the variety of jap cams available. Just my 2p
Small turbos - they're not big and they're not clever!

Just say NO to small turbos!

you got yours mapped yet earl???

I have heard good things about piper, but went with HKS to keep a nice theme on my car.

The HKS cams only just clear the head with the amount of lift on my version IIRC 11.2mm lift, 272deg duration. Nice off boost kick and flows more than enough for the turbo at top end.

JulianKV is using Piper 264s on his TD-06 install. We're going back to Thor in a month or so to play with cam timing

Nathan,

be interesting to swap to Piper High Lift cams, which have a lift of 11.9mm and see if you can make anymore power!

I pm'd Dino and after he had a good look at my planned mods and the TDO6, Dino recommended the Piper 264in/264ex cams as I was originally going to go with staggered cams set up.

Dino kindly contacted ATS, obtained the specs on the TDO6 and did some research to see what cams would benefit my mini build and Dino recommended the 244 Piper cams as did ATS Aaron, Trickster and Piper too- so jobs a good'un \:D/

Thanks Dino :thumleft:

Piper have been about for ages and specialise in cams so wouldnt think for one moment there would be a reason not to go for them.
