Yep they are the ones, like the number plate btw - suits the dark colour. Oh I'd get the lights fixed now the nights have drawn in :D

Yes that its a mk1a - they were colour-coded for a period, kind of an inbetween stage between the a & b. Its a very nicely detailed mk1

I agree, it's just a shame that the company don't even bother to relpy to emails from potential UK buyers

You too! - maybe we could try and organise a group buy for this item, asI'm sure the thought of a sizable order may get their fingers clicking over a keyboard :?:

If you have a mk1b you will need the two-piece lower panels and one piece air dam off a mk1a - I think the grille interchanges :-k (but don't quote me) - you are likely to need to do minor remedial work to the front wings as mk1b wings have a fixing point for the spoiler not required, thus shall be visable if you switch them over. I emailed proprietor John Foxton a while back and got a reply, but he wasn't keen to quote a price for shipping to the UK.

I also got no response to my request for a discount for being a repeat customer, plus the fact that he's using a picture of my car on his website (mine was the second Mk1 front spoiler he made).

If people are really keen I might look at bringing one or two Aerotech spoilers back to the UK with me the next time I visit my folks in NZ. That could be a year or more away though...

It could be worth doing a group buy, which would reduce the per-item shipping cost. I won't be needing one myself though, as I've just sold my supercharger here in the UK :-(

Mk1a and b grilles aren't interchangeable: the Mk1a grille is smaller.

Quality and finish is superb, with consistent GRP thickness, flawless surface finishing and good fit to the car (although I had to tease the front edge of the wings and corner aprons out a little bit for a perfect fit). It's a hell of a lot stronger than the factory spoiler, but I don't think it'd affect crumple zones in a crash.

Aesthetically the spoiler is designed to complement the factory side skirts; the upturned portion at its trailing edge is the same height as the leading edge on the side skirt and its ground clearance is the same.

I was considering fitting the same spoiler to my UK MR2, but then I went and sold it...

I was a bit confused in one of my earlier posts and thought HT was talking about fitting the Aerotech spoiler, not the standard Mk1a one.

So you do need the one-piece air dam and you may indeed need to fill some holes in the lip of the wing where the factory Mk1b spoiler attaches, but no, you won't have to do any welding.

Incidentally, those one piece Mk1a air dams can be difficult to get sitting right. Before I had the Aerotech spoiler fitted my one-piece air dam had a horrible warp in it that just would not come out.

Personally I think the Mk1a air dam only looks really good on cars that don't have side skirts (the nice 'clean' look). On a skirted 2 I reckon it makes the car look a bit 'chinless'.

Did you know your number plate is illegal?

Silver on black is only allowed pre-73.
