[Mk2] [Turbo] cylinder oil jets ...

Post by RyanRs »

ritee... on each cylinder, there is a gold colourd oil jet thingy, held in by a 5mm allen key bolt.. if you remove them they have a spring loaded ball bearing, which wen pressed in, allows oil to pass thru and out of the jet.. now, just on the 1st one(cam end),the BB spring loader isnt working, and you can blow thru it with ease.. is this important and shuld it be replaced? or is it supposed to be like this?

The part to which i mean is on here .. Part No: 15708 (middle-left of diagram)

Hello mate,

I have two trains of thought on this.

1. The spring/function may have been left out of no.1 for immediate oil flow i.e. it was designed like for a reason.

2. All the others are like it, so it should be the same.

You should really contact Rogue or 3S as they do engine builds and can tell you if they are ment to be like that.

Cheers, Lewis.

All the jets are the same regardless of cylinder postion mate. Try pushing the spring inwards and squirt some solvent or wd 40 through the hole. It may be some small particle stopping the ball from seating properly so blowing through it should clear it. If it makes no difference but a new one from toyota theyre about a tenner each iirc
