Am tempted by this or the 17th.

depends on my driving lisence as its a sunday.

Why do they rush through the fines, yet when it comes to getting your lisence it takes forever ](*,)

i'll have to wait closer to the time

Tim, I don't think you need your licence at Donington

And thinking out aloud, would you want to do half a day in each car again, share costs? :-k

( PS I still owe you a few quid for fuel, brakes and tyres, 'cos I did two sessions in your car and you only did one session in mine)

Interested - yes, very ! But depends if the Mk1 is back together in time. Currently the head is off and I'm going to need a few dry evenings and a weekend to put it all back together again. So if I do make it, it would be last minute assuming there were places left ....

Ben, there's loads of places left. I'll probably only confirm the night before (will check weather forecast). Anyways you could always bring the Roadster turbo! :D

Bring the Roadster .. hmmm! I do need to get it remapped properly at the moment though, according to the guys at Perfect touch it is a bit lean on full boost at the top end.

Then again, I could just turn the boost down a bit further to keep it safe and run it as it is ...

I rang them up.

You dont need a driving licence \:D/

i can do it on my MSA one, or just fill a disclaimer.

The only problem was i was organising a day with some of the karting lot for the 17th, but that may not happen. Im trying to drag the challenge people along too.

i'll know in a day or two

You don't need your licence (or MSA licence) for this one if its a BaT day.

Its only the Farmer Palmer circuits that require you to show your driving licence (MSA licence isn't valid for trackdays).

I spoke to donnigton directly, and they said i need to fill a disclaimer to say i have a driving licence but just havent got it, or just show my MSA as its valid. I guess its just different companys views. Thanks for the heads up though.

Only 19 confirmed on this so far. So it looks like it won't be fully booked up (meaning anyone can make a last minute decision). And it means loads of clear track! :D

Will probably book for half a day on my own or share costs with someone else for a full day.

Few questions, if I may:

1. Does 'Open Pit' mean you can do as many laps as you like?
2. Is it teh full circuit?
3. Is it sessioned at all?
4. Is the £150 the all in total cost per car?
5. Can you have more than one driver per car?

Cheers

1. yes but too many and your car will be no more

2. not sure it could be national which misses out the hairpin, someone else will probably clarify this (please)

3. No

4. yes

5. second driver free, 3rd driver

I still dont know what to do  i am tempted tom.

Its bound to be the national layout, though it depends a bit on the circuit themselves in this respect. You are not missing much if its on the national rather than the international layout which incorporates teh melbourne loop.

Wouldn't worry about that.

Open pit means exactly that, no sessions, you come and go as you please.

Spectators/passengers free as are second drivers. Its an extra £50 for a third driver in your car.

/i work for bookatrack.

Thanks for the replies

Few more:

a. Do I need a proban/nomex suit or similar (my kart suits aren't fireproof, and my proban one from when I was 16 is a bit tight)?

b. Start - Finish and lunch times? (It gets dark at 1600 now)

c. Is there a warm place to stand and watch from? (My wife will want to come and drive, but need to leave our small child with the grandparents in a warm place whilst we're out on track)

Thanks again

a: No nothing required, though you should ideally cover your arms and legs. Jeans and a jumper will suffice just fine.

b: 9am start 4pm finish. Though worth bearing in mind is that we are getting close to the shortest day now so finish times in dec will be very much dependent on light. So see anything after 3.30pm as a bonus.

c: there is the pitstop diner, though you can't watch from there. There is a covered grandstand at the far end of the pitlane. Wouldn't say its warm there. Children under 16 are not allowed in the pitlane.
