St Patriks night and some %^&*ing idiot vandalised my mo

Post by PsychomIKE »

Hi all... well as the title points out some idiot took it upon themselves to release a bit of agression on what was my previously mint nick mk1 and now its a bit of a mess.

They decided to smash up my rear number plate (already replaced that), flatten my nearside front tyre, badly key the bonnet, engine cover and rear boot and worst of all completley mangle my wiper arms - 10 out of 10 for effort! :(

The point of this post ? Well mainly just to release a bit of emotion, i feel completely gutted! But also.... the keying across 3 entire panels ive been given a very rough estimate of £300 labour plus materials from a workshop i know - this sound reasonable to you guys ?
I'm toying with the idea of getting some replacement panels for the rear arches done at the same time as there is slight bubbling appearing on the nearside. Take "advantage" of the situation that they will already be mixing paint up anyway.

Also - Mr T quoted me £170 for 2 new wiper arms!! Any ideas on getting a better deal?

Cheers for advice - think i'll go drown some sorrows :(

Gutted for you mate :(

I dread the day that happens to any of my cars :|

Keep your eye out on ebay for bits and pieces you might need. Also in "For Sale" sections of the various sites.

£170 for new wiper arms???
I paid £3.00 for a pair yesterday that were on a car being broken. They are in good condition with no rust - so bargain I thought 8)

Mind you the quote they gave me for a full respray came to £1800.00 + any bits that break during trim removal and they refuse to do blow-overs

I replaced my wiper arms as they had been badly converted to take halfords jobbies. I still have the old ones with good rubbers. If you are on the south coast you can have them, still work fine. They are not in great shape but it still better than mangles ones. Keep your eyes peeled in the scrappy, plenty of decent ones out there as i dont think wiper arms are in demand.
