What a horrible end to the season, eh? I saw the jet car blow right in front of where we were standing, and am still amazed that the driver got out. Everyone immediately made a dash for the exit soon after!

Not a word about it the explosion/fire in any of the local papers, and no-one has mentioned it on here... :pale:

Looked dramatic but the guy was completely unhurt, Mikejc was talking to him [the driver] about it on the Sunday.

I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

If it was the one i think it was, i was standing about 20m up from the start line! His parachute deployed as the jet was on full thrust! Torching the parachute, the flames then engulfed the back of the car and proceeded to leave him a little crispy 8-[

Cripes - I thought something was wrong when I saw the parachute deploy so early. Amazing photo, too - wish I'd have brought my video camera along to the event now.
Glad to hear the chap was okay.

Glad to hear to many IMOCers went to the event, but didn't notice anything in the Events section, though. Perhaps next year?
