Hi, & Welcome to IMOC..

The exhaust issue has been covered many, many times, if you use the search facility you may have some luck.

In Summary though:

Magnex & Mongoose make exactly the same system, only difference is Magnex charge more £ . They are fairly quiet, stock looking exhausts which are more free flowing than the standard system so add a small amount of BHP.

Janspeed do a full system, and is probably the loudest on the market unless you go custom made.

Custom made - places like Powerflow etc located in most large citys (?)
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

at last years RR day Dris's otherwise standard car Flitzer fitted with a mongoose made the most power of the unmodified engined cars

though Janspeed equipped cars were close behind, down to personal preference really unless you intend to do trckdays (or have akward neighbours) then the janspeed may be too loud
Fred std car with a Magnex topped that later on anothe RR day

my own car has a very noticable increase in power now with a Magnex fitted
but as said Magnex/Mongoose are almost if not identical
noise will increase with age too
my car with an older magnex was about 5db louder than Ian Clements's car with a new magnex fitted measured at Donnington last month

After blowing two magnexs' within a couple of months im well happy with my custom jobbie, would recommend the centre i had it made but the guy had blatantly screwed the ar$e out of my car on the test run as the tyres and engine were stinking hot when i picked it up!!

Just dont bother with a magnex on an sc is my advice

Don't forget that noise does not equal power.
If you have custom made, make sure they construct the exhaust so that it is not only loud but unrestrictive.
And the Janspeed is not that loud - my Powerflow hits 105db with a bounced throttle to 4000 rpm.
I am going to live forever, or die trying!

I have a mongoose & its been great, you can also buy them of Ebay for under £300 from traders sometimes, maybe worth a look if you on a budget & can fit yourself

I'm in the process of making my own with an elise backbox, sum pipes from Jetex and the flexi and downpipe from my old system as it snapped at the mid silencer.

Should come in about £100 all in. Would be cheaper if i could weld.

Strange that because the Mongoose on our SC is very different to the Magnex on the track N/A. In styling and the way it sounds.

Looks wise the Magnex exits are straight cut and rolled stainless:

The Mongoose exits are slash-cut and not rolled (not the best pic, but the only one we have). MartG's is the same.

The Magnex on the N/A sounds fantastic under full load at around 7000rpm in third 8)
The Mongoose on the SC is a screamer - sounds like a spitfire 5000rpm and above  but then again we also have a custom manifold 8)
