Not a competition. If there's not enough people I will cancel it.

The whole choose your team thing.
Sorry had been up for a very long time by that point and suffering still from food poisoning from a bad curry.
Am guilty of losing sense of humour.

hows about we all turn up to this, and then maybe take a spirited drive down to brighton? :-k

Get a funky route going and make something of it.

Took a poll and people wanted one for November.
Like the ideas of Guildford to Brighton - if it came to that though, think I'd probably just go straight to the Brighton meet.
No point driving 55 miles to Guildford only to come pretty mucht he same distance back for the Brighton meet.

Or we could meet you on route and someone could lead the convoy down to that point - Pease Pottage for example - is that in the right direction?!!

Not trying to break up your meet or anything Tiamat, but all are welcome to join the Brighton run mr2oc crew. I'm allowed to say that 'cos I've got one foot in each camp

You got it Leeroy - the meet starts at Pease Pottage Services at 1.00pm then we're off to Brighton.
Tiamat - I'm organising a mini-convoy from Kent and we'll be going cross country to Pease Pottage via East Grinstead. If you're interested in hooking up with us PM me for a time and place.

I too have a foot in each camp - also post on the OC.
Guildford meet is always posted on the OC too.
I saw the Brighton meet before I posted up - just this is the only free Sunday I have left before January to do a Guildford meet and I wasn't planning on a Guildford meet until February / March 2007.
Aslo to be honest the Brighton meet doesn't appeal to me that much as last time it was mainly dual carriageway - much prefer twisties - and the roads we used were roads that I drive on a weekly basis - kinda takes the thrill from it a bit.

Think this could still be an option.

Malcolm, appreciate the twisties.... anyone know any good twisties on a drive along that route to Brighton? I know of a few if you go towards Dorking and then down the A24 and cut across along a nice road - can find out the route if interested?

We'll each be coming from all sorts of places, so different groups will need to work out their preferred route to Pease Pottage. The mr2oc convoy from Kent will have one of the best twisties on offer - 80%+ on B roads!

For the hard core twisties fans who don't fancy the drive down the A23 after the meet at Pease Pottage imo the only real alternative route to Brighton is
Unclassified road to Handcross then
A279 to Lower Beeding then
A281
If we're going for a drink+food at Devil's Dyke again before going down into town, the A281 will take us directly to the turn off to the Dyke.
But I don't need any convincing - you'll need to talk to the guy organising the meet!

It seems as if everyone is going to Brighton, so I think that I will cancel the Guildford meet, unless there are some serious objections?

Hey Malcolm, don't want to step on your toes at all but if the Guildofrd meet itself doesn't go ahead and you do decide to go straight to Brighton then it would still be good for some of us further North to meet at Guildford and head down to Pease Pottage to join the others.

Does that sound like a plan?

If so I assume the current 6 (minus Tiamat I'm assuming) on the list are still up for congregating in Guildford?

Wouldn't interfere with a convoy or anything - I am talking about cancelling the Guildford meet in itself - not a pre-arranged meeting point or anything. As you say, its not a meeting point I would go to though! Slightly in wrong direction...
