This has probably been covered before but i did some searches and couldnt find anything.
I've just got a new head unit, and i'd like to do away with the active speaker system - from reading certain threads here it seems that running new wires is the best option, but i cant really face pulling the interia trim apart. Is it reasonable just to locate the standard amps and brigde the wires accross - cutting the amps out? And if so where should I be looking.
Apart from changing head units before with the help of a halford adaptor I know nothing, so bear with me .
Thanks
the interior isnt that hard to take out! and running new wires is by far the easiest option! give your self plenty of time if its your first time, dont rush and you find its all pretty logical!
Any other questions feel free to ask!

Thanks for your reply
I spent part of yesterday locating the stock amps, and your right what i suggested was not as easy as i'd hoped. For the time being im gonna use a loom adaptor but it seems a shame to be running my head unit through the stock amp and speakers, so in a couple of weeks when i've got some more time i'll rewire everything.
Are there any step by step tutorials for removing the interior.
Cheers
Tony
dont really know of any step by steps sorry, i know that the dash can seem a little tricky at first but i guess you have found your way around that one!
For the two minutes it takes to do i would remove the seats, always my first job when doing anything within the interior, otherwise bthey just get in the way!
For the doors, tape your speaker wire firmly to an unravelled wire coathanger, push this through the rubber gromit with all the wires, pull it through the other end and you will have a neatly wired door speaker!
Any particular panels you need help on though just ask!
