Definitely come highly recommended!
I was also in on the last group buy by Ben, immediately upon fitting I noticed a difference in idle smoothness when starting on a cold / damp morning.
Possibly my rev3 dizzy was on it's last legs but it's good to know that my current copper-contact dizzy will last until I sell the car!

Check for corrosion and wear on the standard aluminium contacts, if a little grubby it may be possible to remove this with a knife or similar.
The plastic cap can have fine cracks appear through time, although you'd almost certainly know if there was due to poor running.
Tubby's do tend to eat dizzy caps far quicker than most!

Chris, I've got some pics of good and bad contacts on dizzy caps - I'll post some up in a few days time for you to have a look.

To be honest though, if you can get the cap off and check the condition of the contacts you'll know straight away once you've scraped off any deposits if the surface of the contact has been corroded away - it really is obvious to spot.

K this is interesting as only for the last couple of days my car has had a strange misfire just as boost peaks around 4k. It comes and goes and I though it may be due to water. I replaced my dizzy 12 months ago and I own a tubby. Is it normal for a dizzy to get eaten so quick? Im gonna check its condition tomorrow..cant be ar$ed doin much on the car due to the weather heh. If its knackered already ill be emaillin you dude!

No worries - not heard from you so I guess its OK?

It will get eaten away fairly quickly - depends on the mileage you do. A new MrT cap I'd say would be OK for 12-18 months - but running higher boost etc would show up any problems sooner.
