North East "Power Run" morning - Sat 18th November

Post by gtech »

Once again we have arranged to spend the Saturday morning (18 Nov) at Macdonald Racing using thier Rolling road.

These guys are superb and very very approachable, last time round we had a good turnout and an excellent morning.

We currently have around 6 places to fill. Cost is £30 per car, thats incl of VAT, and includes your printout as well showing power/torque.

Will be starting around 9am, and will go on till about 1pm then down to a nice little pub down the road for a sandwich.

The following have already indicated their attendance, anyone else wanting to put their car on, can you please copy and paste the list adding your name to the bottom:

Paul Woods - Bringing his V6 3.0i Mk2
Steve Wilson
Graeme Shaw
Matt McInnes
John Godwin
JJ (only a MAYBE but I'm sure we can push him)
JAY (Supra - again possible....go for it Jay, lets see what the supra can do)

So guys, lets fill them places and have a good morning.

Well there is a lot of if's and butts in that one.

Of the standard MR2 Turbo's I reckon its got to be JJ if we can get him on the rollers, if not, then you will be looking at either Matt or Steve. Both had issues last run and both guys have done a lot of work to make sure their cars are up to spec this time round, so we should see some interesting numbers from them.

Power for power's sake then probably Jay in his twin turbo supra....really need to get him on the rollers just to see what this makes, its running all standard at the moment so would also give Jay a baseline for future improvements

Gonna be an interesting day :-)

I'm pushed ! Crankkiller threw up oil all over the engine bay the other day in discust of me thrashing it... so theres that to clean up !!

Mines just running on the wastegate spring at the moment ( 6 psi )... to discipline myself before changing brakes and getting the thing to go straight.. I've got a whole lot of braiding / reliability improvements still to do which i'll do over the winter !! The car accelerates with anger at the moment.... so I'd be keen to see how much power its producing now in it detuned state and after when I stick some lightening through it. I recon its kicking out about 300 at the moment @ 6psi

Ha ha, good man,

I'm going down Halifax the weekend before with my mates Evo (there's 17 in convoy off to a rolling road day), neither of us have modded them yet so will be good to see what sort of power they're putting out in standard form,
