Another quick Intercooler question by me :)

Post by ENSMR2 »

Apparently I wouldnt need a bigger throttle body unless my ic piping is bigger then the rev 3 TB.

So my questions are as follows.

1. What ?diameter? is the Rev 3 TB

2. What is the size of the ic piping for the phoenix power ic. (John Reece, Bry?)

I had a look at the apexi ic piping yesterday and its bigger than the Rev 1 TB. But looks smaller than the PP ic piping.

I want to now compare the apexi piping to the Rev 3 TB so I need the size of that.

Then I will be deciding if it'd be worth fabricating some bigger ic pipes if possible.

Cheers

Should fit fine IIRC.

a PP IC from a rev2 will fit a rev3 too. With a bit of persausion.

Yeah but I'm not getting the PP one. they don't do it anymore.

Im after the apexi. But the piping looks smaller then the PP piping so it may be smaller than the TB on a rev 3. If thats the case. I'd like to fabricate up some bigger pipes and scrap/sell on the apexi ones.

apexi ones looked about as big as a coke can.

have you tried mtte?? jase got me a used but good nick PP IC couple of months ago mate.

around £380 delivered i think, came with pipes & a HKS racing BOV!!

has anyone elso found that the IC to TB pipe is slightly to long for the required fitment & you get a slight kink in the TB rubber pipe?!

same on mine & the PP car that (presser i think or whoever!!) had on here, noticed it when it was in bonzai

Yep.

He said they are icreasingly harder to get hold of and are now very rare in japan too.

I dont want to use second hand parts either. I dont want something to go wrong and its down to a used part. Im getting parts at a fairly cheap rate anyway from a friend who is building it for me.

The inside diameter of a Rev3 tb is 62mm mate, have it on photo if you want proof :)

cheers mate.

The PP piping is biger than that though. Would it be wise then for people with PP ic and hard pipes to go for a bigger tb?
