Wouldn't touch it mate!

Its obviously an ex race car.

I would always be dubious about resprays too, they are never as good as original paint, and they are usually hiding something

it has hard pipes heading in and out from the intercooler - might be worth asking for a photo of that - probably uprated as well [-o< not sure what the bodykit is though

To be honest mate that looks quite a one off.

The kit on it is made by Do-luck and from the photo's the quality & fitment of the kit looks superb. Together with the finish to the paint makes it one very special looking vehicle.

It's very unlikely that this car has been raced that much as most japanese tracks require four point harnesses to be installed as well as a roll cage. I've imported quite a few MR2's with roll cages, non of which have ever seen a track. Sometimes its down to the owner liking the look or safety aspect.

As for the modifications to the engine, they look to be subtle, airfilter, intercooler etc etc, so not too highly tuned for you to worry about.

From first impressions I really like the car and for that price would seriously consider going for it, but at the end of the day its your money and upto you.

rollcage :-k That would ring alarm bells for me, drifting anyone?

I like the colour but that engine cover is shocking and what is going on with those wings jammed out the side of the front bumper - extra downforce?

so long as the car runs and drives fine and an inspection checks out, it will be fine mate. there is only one other do-luck kitted mr2 in the country and the kit does cost a lot..... about 2k.

Go and look it over, you won't really know what it is like until you see it in the flesh.

Keep us posted though!

Good luck mate.

To be honest mate, have you ever tried to drift an MR2? Not impossible but its more hassle than its worth. S13/14/15 much better option.

The roll cage is most likely purely cosmetic. The cage has no padding to it or any marks to indicate it was wrapped in any padding, therefore wouldnt be allowed on most tracks in Japland, plus no four point seat harness.

This its just a case of personal taste by the jap owner, he probably fancied the idea of himslef as a race car driver, but never really wanted to actually get round to it.

good luck parking in a tight multi storey car park space with those wings mate....not like wing mirrors they aren't going to fold in!

But seriously, why not spend £4k on an unmolested car and then add the bits you want? That way its customised to you not someone else
