Elglo dials with kmph ?

Post by JohnnyC »

Anyone know of any elglo type dials that have both mph & kmph on the speedo ? (incase I ever take the '2 abroad)

Fitted these dials to the wifes car today, and have to say I'm very impressed and completely jealous, so I'm wanting similar :)

That's because you are looking at the American Left Hand Drive dial images ya numpty #-o (j/k) - a yank wouldn't know what a Kilometer is  hence not on their dials.

I assure you, my 110Mph Speedhut Right Hand Drive dials have a Km/h inner scale :D

Actually.... having been through the Speed Hut site just now - I don't see the option to add it either!

However - it can and has been done - My dials were the first batch and it has it.

Just email them and ask....

I can reccomend Speed Hut fully....

Someone on the mr2oc put up a quote from their site, and it said they can do kmph RATHER than mph - but I want both :)

Might ask Speedhut anyway.

Would be interested if anyone's got pics of the Funky Styling ones though :D

I HAVE both - and they were from the first batch of SpeedHut Right Hand Drive dials
^^^^^ Notice the word HAVE

have (hăv) pronunciation
1. To be in possession of: already Have a car.
2. To possess as a characteristic, quality, or function: Have a beard; Have a great deal of energy.

In case you missed it - My dials from SpeedHut feature BOTH MPH and KM/H scales

Great :) Stick some pics up then :D
The trouble with ordering something from Speedhut with both mph & kmph is that I won't have any idea what it'll look like - because their website don't let you design it like that

Okay, next question regarding Speedhut dials - I figure I'd get a quicker response on here than asking them...

Am I right in thinking that they only light up one colour on the dials (font or background)?
I've never actually seen the 'redline' light up at night (probably possible if the font is the same colour).

In my original pic above, both blue and red light up at night (the background is white during the day).

Well I've done it, ordered some Speedhut dials :)

They're probably sick of my emails, making sure they do the km/h how I want it - as I found another photo of Speedhut dials that had the km/h markers in a different (horrible) style.

One thing that I really wanted (apart from lit red AND blue - which they can't do :( ) was that the reverse elglo 'redline' on the rev counter to be visible at night. My suggestion to them was to do it as they do with the custom 'images' that they can put on (which also glow when lit), here's what I wanted (I'm a picky bugga  ) mocked up in an art package...

And they said....NO
Personally I can't see the problem, but then I don't know exactly how they make them.

Anyway, tis ordered, will be pics of when fitted in a couple of weeks :)

Just hope I can remember to change gear at 7000rpm at night ](*,)

*Every* photo I've seen of Speedhut dials have the redline starting at 7000.
Even the stock dials 'sort of' start at 7000, with a smaller red bit though.

Got my new dials woot woot...

Bad news..... there's no hole for the security light in the rev counter.
And this was something I did add in the 'notes' when ordering, AND in the emails to them

Let's just see if they're any good at rectifying their mistake - I'm sure they will be [-o<

Well it appears not, I emailed them 5 days ago and not a peep.

However, I braved it and cut a hole myself with one of those paper punch thingies...
