UK's 7th V6'd MK2..........

Post by foxy-stoat »

right, gonna be picking up my MK2 from Woodsport in less than a week now, theres been a thread going on TB, but thought i'd post up the progress on here ( without all the banter !! )

Standard car:

Image

Image

now ya see it .....

Image

now ya dont ......

Image

orrible looking gearbox ......

Image

nice n clean gearbox ....

Image

V6 coming out of the "boat"....

Image

freshly jet washed V6.....

Image

V6 being stripped for the new gaskets and painting.....

Image

bit of painting......

Image

re-assembled V6.......

Image

engine ready to be fitted.....

Image

nicely fitted V6......

Image

yummy !.....

Image

best number plate i could find for £250 !!!!

Image

nice shinny exhausts ....

Image

Paul has done a tip top job in the 4 weeks ( as promised ), just got a 5 hour train trip and a nice 6 hour drive back home next saturday.

He has just gotta wire the engine up, fit the air filter and magnex exhaust and it'll be roaring back to sussex....will have some more pics when its finshed.

got some side skirts to paint and fit, and gotta re-furbish some MK2 alloys and paint them white.....watch this space for more piccys

:)

Well, finally picked up the finish article and WOW !! they engine note pass 4750rpm sounds soooooooooooooooooo cool !!!!

the exhaust keeps everything nice and standard sounding, so no booming and popping and stuff.

changes the way the car drives now, this should of been rolling out of the factory from new !!!!

took a few picks on the drive home from Durham, didnt even listen to the radio for the 350 miles ( thats how good the engine sounds ! )

Image

and NO, it didnt break down ( AA box !! ) i used that to should how orange the sky was !!!!

Image

( you can tell the pics i took and the ones that Paul took......GET A DECENT CAMERA PAUL !!!!!

Image

next up is sorting out the paint work and de-badging the back etc etc

Image

if anyone is umming and rring about getting this conversation done, take this advice....

DO IT !! DO IT NOW !!!!

:-k you forgot to re-fit the hobnobs, do you think the V6 will make up the power that you've lost from removing those

in all seriousness it does look a tidy job, if people are still doing these conversions when my engine is on it's last legs (should be a good few years yet tho [-o< ) i'd seriously consider getting it done, hopefully by then somebody will have found a V8 that'll fit :D

well, standard v6's in the camry run at 185 bhp

its the same, but without the egr system and nice freeflowing exhaust.

the standard v6's that have been dyno'd are slightly under 200hp, but havent got it dyno'd yet.
