Being able to preview posts?

Post by lukem »

On some other websites, if you hover on a header post within a section, a pop up will show the first sentence.

This means you can perhaps see content without opening the post. Obviously saves on (some) time as it can be the case that you open posts that look relevant but turn out not to be.

Scoobynet has this function as an example.

Any thoughts?

Sorry but it does my head in, you get a flicker of all the first sentences popping up as you move your mouse pointer accross the list. :shaking:

Agree with Chris (Limey) on this one - one of the 'features' I hate. Comes up when I don't want it to, never really shows enough information from the post to be of much use, makes people lazy when it comes to writing titles for the threads, and it means more data required whenever you load a page - which means (slightly) longer load times.
As you can tell I'm really not a fan... But that's just my feeling!
