I had issues in qualifying that saw me start from the back of the grid - 20th position! When I spun at the start of lap 2 I made my way up to 5th position and I could see the four guys ahead of me. My mistake at paddock knocked me back to 11th place and it took me the rest of the race to regain what I'd lost, finishing fifth overall.

I'm looking forwards to Mallory on Monday - I got the fastest MR2C lap last year, and for the first time ever I've actually done some testing ahead of the race! I've managed to knock nearly one and a hlaf seconds off last year's fastest lap:

Knowing my luck though, it'll rain and I'll end up parked in the gravel at Gerrards again!

"Give me a lever long enough, and a fulcrum strong enough, and single-handed I can move the world." - Archimedes

Sadly I couldn't quite manage it one handed!

But with both feet braced and a long lever I manage dot get everything straight again!

And now with the help of Jinxy (Tony) and Kevin and also BokMotorsport I'm pretty much ready to fit everything again, so that's this afternoons mission! Joy.

Good to see you around again - looks like you've been enjoying yourself in the Mk1, good to hear you'll be able to get it sorted and get back racing.

I can still remember your post after your first trackday at Donnington in your old Blue Mk1 ;) :thumleft:

Ben

Hiya Ben! Sorry I missed your post! Yeah, man that was a long while ago... You know, I still miss that car, never had another quite like it :D

Still, I've come a long way since then! Madness really and I have all you guys to... erm blame... No not blame, thank for it ;) :p :D

The work continues, bit by bit!

Me and my old man after another evening of fiddling about:

Red white and blue... How patriotic!

I think I'm going to just have a laugh with some spray cans for the last race :D

But the bumper bar and bumper is now straight and ready to fit, headlights ready to go on and just need a bottom hose for the rad and I'll be well away!

Nearly there me thinks!

And a big thanks to Rowland for his help yesterday! Much appreciated!!!

Cheers Lauren! Getting there, if I can get enough time in the evenings this week then hopefully I should have everything back together by the weekend... Well, that's the plan! ;)

Sorry for the delay, I did manage to get the car ready for Snett and then been running around getting the final touches... Anyway, here's the final few peices going back together:

It's nearly there!

With wheels!

And washed it off today, so looking quite good!

All in I spent about £400 on parts but that was with a couple of bit's being thrown away that I needed, so it could have been less still!

And here's the finished article!

And here it is! All prettied up and ready to race! With me... Not feeling very ready to race!

Well, needs a battery but if weights are going up then a full size battery would be good way to go ;)

And with trailer above

And in action:

Great Job Mark.

Would never had guessed at the colour scheme right up until the last moment. Looks totally different than before but looks good. :thumright:
