http://www.speedhut.com/el_detail_gauge ... 439&bhcp=1

the pound is extemely strong at the minute, so thought id better take advantage!!

for the money, i think there awsome!! i ordered the silver back, with blue font to match my already exsisting speedhut dials of the same colour!

i asked peeps opinions on these a few weeks back, and turns out a few have got this and think its awsome for the money!

Its useful to have a vacuum reading because when your foot is not on the throttle and you are decelerating a negative pressure is created in the intake.

I personally would not entertain a boost gauge with no vacuum reading.

Also a mechanical gauge is really easy to sort out pipe wise as the pipe is very small diameter so its a doddle to root it up by the drivers side sill anway.

At the end of the day not having a 'vacuum' reading is not a big deal i guess, but you are missing half the display IYSWIM.

Not that you can see very well, but if you look at where the needle is sat on my boost gauge (top) the needles on 0. And it goes back to -25 or something like that.

I don't know if we need it, but IIRC someone told me to make sure I got one with negative numbers too. But I think it'll be fine without. Ask a guru, they'll know!

yeah they are excellent quality and design, only thing is that the prices are almost on par with what you can get the el glo apexi, hks and greddy boost gauges for...... so i would opt for the branded item :?

the speedhut gauges do have a vacuum reading on the boost gauge. if you look at this pic, you can see the bottom one as being the speedhut gauge

too late mate, ordered the speedhut ones.
anyway, these would match exactly to my speedhut dials, but thats not the point really is it! lol!

for £55ish, i think there proper awsome quality compared to same priced brands anywhere, uk or US.
dont forget the great exchange rate and the fact i got 15% off as well, all them pluses!! far do's, its not greddy, apexi etc etc, but im not axactly going to be pushing around 300bhp at 18psi etc, i just want to replace the stock guage.

for this reason, i think i got a bargain!

anyway, must be good, your one of the main geezas on these forums, and youve got one, lol!!!

yeah, they go very well with the dials which was the main reason for me getting the gauges as well, as they matched very nicely :)

lol, funny tho cos when my vsv thing was unplugged i was pushing 18psi on the boost gauge.... i think it goes up to 20psi :D

i may be one of the main geezers on the forums... but thats only cos i spew a lot of crap most of the time

hi shaf, apart from the gauge, and a piller pod, what else do i need to install the guage properly.
i havent done this sort of thing before, so it would be handy if you could tell me what else i need, considering you got the speedhut gauge as well. you know what is and isnt provided with the kit.

tar buddy,

the only problems i had with the boost gauge was they didnt give me enough of the piping to get to the engine as they only provide piping long enough for front engined cars..... also, the oil pressure gauge couldnt be installed properly as the solenoid they provided me with was too large to fit in the small gap where it was supposed to fit.... not really an issue if you didnt get an oil pressure gauge :)

hi man.
got my gauge yestrurday, but it doesnt look like yours (ie, hasnt got a vaacum).
it just goes straight from 0-30psi.
not -20 to 0 to 20psi like a vaacum one would.

could i have problems????

even though it's nice to have the vacumn reading it's not necessary. One of the main reasons for having a boost gauge is to ensure you not running to much boost, in that respect the speedhut gauge does it's job. I've made a custom 3 gauge holder that sits in one of the din slots. Haven't got any pic's to hand unfourtunately. I don't like the a pillar holders and couldn't find anything else that i liked.

the only good thing to have neg reading on boost is, you know the gauge is working before it is to late, also I beleive it is more accurate as well, if I remember correctly ( sold my blitz last week on ebay for about 40 ish) now saving up for defi bg series 8)
