Just back home now (!)

Cheers to Enis and all at Perfect Touch for running such a good day - the dyno they've got there has to be one of the best setups I've seen anywhere. It was great to Cooling for the front and both sides of the car - with that all running full speed, it was deafening in the Dyno cell - even when the cars weren't being run up :)

Nice to catch up with many folks there too - there were some impressive results that people had got there - we need some more info on all the modifications behind the cars - eg Bry, congratulations for getting best figures of the day - what have you done since the last RR day at Engine Advantages?

Before I had to go I managed to get some pictures in - I also left my Video camera setup and recording everything in the dyno cell, so later this week I'll sort out playing all 3 hours into the PC and picking out the dyno runs. I don't think we got everyone unfortunatly as you couldn't start/stop the video for each run.

In the meanwhile, here are some photos from the day :

Everyone set and ready to go :

Some pics of the dyno cell itself when mine was in there for its run - note alll the fans around inside:

Whilst this was going on, everyone was talking about results, their cars etc...

As for my results - I swapped the K&N intake for an Apexi Powerflow, and fixed a coolant leak on the turbo the day before the dyno (and so didn't have chance to clean the car ..)

Power output was exactly as before - 220bhp at 7-8psi, no detonation but the guys at Perfect Touch told me the mix was getting a little too lean at the top end - (~15:1) so it looks like I need to get the Unichip map that Millway did adjusted and some more fuel added. That will probably cost a little power, but better that and end up with a safe engine map.

Having seen what a good job they did on the dyno day, I'm probably going to book it in with Perfect Touch, if they're happy to work on my NA-> Turbo conversion with a fifth injector ..

Since the last RR day I did at Engine advantages where I got 237whp,I've fitted a PE1919 turbo which is an IHI built turbo for Power Enterprise(but having one yourself I'm sure you already knew that  )I've also fitted an Apexi power FC which I got Mapped by Tweenie Rob(Can't thank Rob enough) at Perfect Touch who's done an amazing job at mapping my car.All of this has resulted in my 340whp figure :D

I thought you'd bought another turbo, but didn't know which one - people are fitting all sorts of different turbos to the MK2 nowadays :)

Is that PE turbo the bolt-on replacement for the CT-20? What boost level are you running it at to get that power figure?

The one on the Roadster is a little smaller than yours ;) - its just a ported PE 1215S - also a modified IHI Turbo, but I'm not certain which one it is based on.

They've done a great job mapping yours - you must be very pleased with the result there :)

Hi Ben,yes it's the direct bolt on replacement turbo for the ct 20.Boost was at 1.4 bar although on the road I normaly use between 1.1 and 1.2bar just to be safe.I can't say enough how pleased I am with the mapping work Rob has done,it's not just the power, the car's sooooooo much smoother than it ever was and it's better on fuel

Owen was the tall guy with the cute girlfriend. His car was parked outside, red with a rather loud exhaust and small multispoke wheels iirc.

Ben, are you going to get the rest of the pictures up sometime?

I got 240 wheels, 278 at fly with my rev3 GTS, on stock boost of 13psi.

Mods are HKS air filter, xxxx downpipe and blueflame exhasut.

I think this compared pretty well with Jonb's 290bh/p - perhaps his extra 12bhp comes from the ST205 cc plus departure 2 and apexi filter instead of my aftermarket parts?

I was hitting a bit of detonation at the top end, so the guy reckoned I should retard by about a degree, which also might have had something to do with this.

I thought it was a good day - so my thanks to the organisers.

Despite what my garage says i'm still running the stock IC as i've yet to get around to fitting the ST205cc.

I think my extra few horses would have come from i was running a boost controlled 0.9bar that peaked at 0.96, not the TVIS controlled .9bar solid (though held .9 for most of the run, just spiked at the start.)

Some good numbers considering our cars are 12 years old.

Hi people..

I'd just like to say thanks from all of us here for a well behaved day!! :D

The day went smoothly for us and everyone was friendly, sorry if i didnt get a chance to talk to everyone.

Glad the weather held out, nothing worse than p1$$ing down rain for a RR day!!

I hope that you were impressed with the set up we have here, weve tried to tailor it to leave us with no problems, maybe coincidence it is great for MR2's ;)

Personally i'd appreciate feedback from anyone who thinks we could make any changes to the day to improve in future. General feedback so far has been positive but there is always room for improvement!!

Thanks again people!!
