Essex RR day out ....

Post by Tony jinxy froude »

Just want to say what a great day out we had =D> i took my boy along & he really loved it, thanks go to those who gave him a spin up the road in their machines... he now has a perma-smile   & thanks also go to those who organised this day out. I wasnt expecting to run my car but was talked into it & im very pleased i did 117.5 at the F/W.. not bad for an 18 year old standard MK1! =D> . It was really good to meet so many MK2 owners & to put faces to names at long last & good to see a few MK3's & the appearence of a VXR 220 made for something different too!!, cheers Guys, Jinxy
Just a few pics.

Great day out, well organised but really laid back as well, so top marks from me 8)

Good to meet everyone I spoke to, and thanks to the chap with the 2 BOV'd () white Mk2 tubby (sorry, never caught your name!) for the loan of the allen keys so I could take the rear tray off and actually put the VXR on the dyno!

I made 225bhp and 215lb/ft (both at the flywheel) on a standard car, so it would appear that I've got 5bhp and 5lb/ft for free from somewhere! :D

@Slacey: Major detonation, prob due down to the fact he's running my Thor map and the bugle on the end of his exhaust

I wasn't around for owens run, nice figures.

I'm happy with 290fwhp @ stock boost (.9bar). Means it's a healthy engine and should last a few more trackdays!

i was fairly chuffed with my rev3 ecu conversion , considering rob said it was so rich it was bordering on borewash
well i knew that anyhow its got a 45psi rev1 regulator on a rev3 which are supposed to run at 40psi

got 40whp LESS than last time , but 30lb/ft more :D and peak power was at 5500 rpm as opposed to 7500 last time

222whp@5500 /260lb/ft@4500 rpm (250 lb'ft at 3500)

Rob also suggested that with a decent map on the powerfc i should hopefully see 300whp and 300 lb/ft , but i need a new headgasket before i can push the boost up

Great day guys , good social event , i have to say i think i spoke to nearly everybody

Owen , Great little setup you have got there , i am glad that rob thinks that your power goals could be realised , just got to convince tuning japanese now

Well they are high, but really needs sorting to realise it's potential.

Fingers crossed for Owen.

Was a great day today and I'd just like to thank Rob,Claudio and Justin of Perfect touch for doing a great job with everyones cars, also like to thank Enis for stepping in and organising the runs especially as he'd come straight from work  =D> I hope everyone was happy with how it went,I thought it all went very smoothly, and some interesting results were gained.Steve's 260 whp was   I think that result was all that was keeping him going after coming straight from the nightshift  Rob was his usual informative self letting people know how rich or lean their cars were or if there was any signs of det or not, just the sort of info you need,so well worth the £30 IMHO.
I was very pleased with my 340whp 310ftlbs torque (386fly)Rob worked some magic on my car again
