[MK1] Seat width

Could someone do me a favour and measure the width (base and back) of a MK1 seat?

Strange request but I have my reasons!

i (well, someone I want to sell them to) want to see if they'll fit a kit car chassis, width wise.

I would measure the ones in my car, but unfortunately it lives 20 odd miles away at the moment.

God knows why you'd want to put Mk1 seats in a kit nail chassis, but they work out to 540mm at the widest point.

What kitnail is it?
