How's your nitrous coming Jo? I take it you won't be running Tango tho...

As said, not fully fitted yet, but will prob end up taking car to Mong (haven't had chance to speak to him re: this yet)

He's the chap with the MK1 / nos experience if you get stuck. My prob is mainly a plumming issue, as the thread for the twin purge do not match anything else  , but when this is done, its just a case of putting the right jets in, changing the spark plugs, and connetcting the solenoid in the corrtect postion. most of the stuff is in place.

will be good to see a few nos mk1's on the strip.

Does this day need booking in advance? I'd love to come along, but don't know if I'm going to have the car ready in time...

Still, I could always just do a run in the 406 for a laugh if the mr2's not ready!

If you book in advance it is through santa pod website or phone.
if not - pay on the gate.

*if you want to go on the stand for Jap Show the next day too, you will need a car pass which you can pre order from me and pick up on the saturday.

see you there

Car needs to be road legal. IIRC, you will only need a helmet if your 1/4 mile speed is more than 100mph.

mostly <12 sec cars i would think go over 100.... :-k

you would not need a helmet i rekon, as they would not *expect* a mk1 sc to be that quick. I hope to see you make the 13's
I hardly ever see anyone there with helmets apart from the pro-tuners and open top cars etc.
If you have one then take it, if you don't, don't worry. 8)

actually - i just checked the 1/4 mile table, and it seems that around the 13.4 sec 1/4 mile time sees 100mph (see mong's mk1 time)
taking this into account maybe your sc can get low 13's or even break the 12's if it launches well.

Hi Jo,

in your first post you mentioned this:

To be eligible you must be a paid up MK1 club member. We will be extending the invite again to IMOC’ers

Does this mean eligibility to the trophies etc? and not entry to the RWYB?

I.e. I won't need any proof of IMOC membership to get in on Saturday?

Cheers,

Ian

yeah - just for the trophies - as we don't want a non-member to take away all the goodies eh?!

it is a public day so anyone can get in at the gate, we should just have an area set aside reserved for us.

you will need:

gate fee £15*
RWYB fee £20
driving licence

*if you are going to the jap show the next day, buy a weekend ticket

hope this helps

yes - if you run with t-bars off or have any sort of open top, then you need a helmet.
however - you will be slower with the roof off, so kin dof defeats the object

if your roof is 'up' do you mean fitted on? - then you are ok with no helmet. just to be on the safe side take one if you have one
