MR2 Challenge 30th Sept, Snetterton.

Post by vix »

Phil and I will be going to this, so if anyone else is up for it let me know and I will sort out a meeting point and a convoy - probs usual place!!!

Tickets are £10 in advance and £12 on the gate (children under 12 free).

We went earlier in the year and it was really enjoyable - lots of club members knocking about, lots of interest in our cars and then there is the racing!!! The MR2 challenge has both Mk1s and Mk2s and there are some very interesting battles!!! Other races on the day include Stock Hatch - which is usually absolute carnage, as well as SAXMAX which will be pretty similar!

If you haven't been to a raceday before, its a great day out, always lots to see and good to catch up with other MR2 owners. Food is a little on the pricey side so its nice to take a picnic, and also chairs, brollies, blankets and suncream depending on the weather!

I'll be driving up the night before and at the track early, but wouldn't mind meeting some of the norfolk peeps if you are about.

A lot of us MR2 Challenge types will be testing there on the Friday, and are planning to get together in the evening as well. I'm sure anyone with an interest in MR2s would be more than welcome.

We may have up to five Rogue Motorsport mk2s on the circuit if we get roll cages in time!

Any idea where you'll be going? Me and Vix are only a few miles up the road in Wymondham so if you're in town we'll definately be joining you. Other options you've got are heading the other way down the A11 to the Stag (which vix will be happy about) or into Norwich

Oh and I'll prob pop down to the circuit Friday PM as I only work in the morning :)

Not yet, there's some discussion about it on the MR2 Challenge forum here:

Well if anyone has a spare free ticket I'd be happy to take it off their hands?

Jo, what do you think our chances are of getting a little area set aside in the circuit for the Club? When the GTs were there they had a special Elise parking zone - I think it was one of the clubs. Would be nice to have our own bit, might even recruit some new members!!!

If you are going then all you need to do is phone the circuit and ask them for an area - most places normally are quite happy to do this (its what we did for mallory) Just say oits for the mr2 mk1 club.

Anyone is welcome to oragnise an event for the club in this way.

If anyone is going that lives near me, they are welcome to pop round to my house and pick up any club stuff they want - ie gazebo, flag, banner etc...

hope this helps 8)

Thanks Jo,

Well I haven't received confirmation yet but it looks like we are able to have a special parking area so any club members coming to the event are welcome to join in :) If any one is passing near Jo, it would be nice to have a banner or 2 :)

1105 750MC Roadsports & 7s Championships PRACTICE

I would suggest that if you are paying to get in, travelling a long way etc, it is definately worth going early to watch the practice sessions to make the most of it. In the practice sessions there are always 'interetsing' moments.

I might get there early anyway now as I want to make sure they don't give away our lovely parking area. Jim, don't want for us at Hall Rd, I'm not sure if I can drive yet (torn a ligament) so Phil will be coming with me straight to Snetterton.

For anyone that wants to come and park with us, we will be behind the ambulance gate at Russell! Hope to see some members there!!

There was a problem with tickets, competitors only got 2 free entry tickets, so there is a lack of spares to this one.

sorry
