Tyre size for 16x8 alloys?

Quick question as i'm too lazy to search and find out for myself:

What size tyre would you recommend for my rear 16x8 alloys?
(I've got a rev2 turbo)

i had 8 by 16s and ran 225 50s but i also tried 225 45s,can't say i noticed much difference, higher profile is slightly more forgiving if you have stiff suspension.

I'm running 245 x 45 Toyo Proxes T1-R

i'm guessing the change in profile will alter the speedo's accuracy (but does it really matter?)

Might try the 50's to keep some sort of ride quality.

Anyone else agree/disagree?
225/50's sound good?

225/45 to keep as near to accurate speedo readings

The speedo reading comes from the front wheels

Doesnt it come fron the gearbox?

Ive got 225/50's on 8x16s too btw, was thinking of going to 245's next though, ill post some vids soon as to why.....

comes from the gearbox on mine! like i said i could'nt notice much difference between 45s or 50s, i don't remember the speedo reading differently either. just make sure you buy good tyres

As I see it, yes, the 'reading' comes from the gearbox - which is why the true speed will be out if you have a different rolling radius than stock

Lazy was that a dance track that used to get on my nerves but was catchy?

225-50-16 is a bit softer with harder suspension but dont like the handling.
225-45-16 good feels right with the mr2 handling characteristics.

205-45-16 front good okay
215-40-16 spot on good handling good steering feedback.

Oh had about 15mm spacers to slightly widen track with lightweight split rims and teins for good measure so maybe my tyre experience differs.

But found the 45 rear profile with 40 front felt good.

Good question what is the widest spacers one can fit before the nuts dont
have enough thread to grip with the slip on spacers over the threads?
20mm?
