Torn between cars!!

Post by Leon. »

So, I've had my '98 rev4 NA since last June and love it. Its only got 24k on the clock, immaculate, great running order.........

But something's just eating away at me!! Should I get a turbo?? My ideal car would be a rev 4 turbo tbar (my current one has a sunroof), probably in red or a blue. So the main upgrade would be turbo  and tbar  I would be able to spend £7k or so.......

I love the thought of getting my ideal car that I can really personalise (in small ways of course!), and I keep thinking hmmmmm, should I buy that mod now for my current car, or wait 'til I upgrade, if I do. Arghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

Its just not that easy to give her up!! I'm concerned that if I sell my babe I may not find another one in as good condition  Oh dear, its getting late and I'm all emotional now

Please help :?

You might struggle to get a rev4 t bar tubby for that money. maybe a late rev3 though. Not really much difference between the two

yep a rev4 will be hard to get hold of for that money but not impossible.

nope if i do sell it, im gonna sell the car as it is. the reason being as it has cost me just over 7k and i was not really looking to spend that much on the car :(

so i will have to wait and see how it goes. if you do decide you like it/ want it. drop me a pm :)

rev4's are about 8k at the mo but you can pick them up cheaper every so often

I had the same car a low mileage Azure Blue Met REV4 UK car and sold it for a Tubby which is 3 years older, mind you I made sure it was a mint one with low mileage. I just wanted loads more power as lots of hatchbacks were annoying me... if you know what I mean! :rambo:

Now, I don't have that problem any more.

imoc and autotrader will be the cheapest and after those, you can check out all the traders like JDI, Newera etc etc but expect to pay premiums of over 1k on equivalent cars.

Thanks Taz :D

So, have you owned both before? If so, which did you prefer?

So, now you have the tubby, would you recommend 'upgrading' - horrible word!! Something I like about the NA, obviously, is the progressive power!

ebay

I know some people hate it but its worth keeping an eye on ebay as there are a few importers who sell there or private sales.

I have bought a few cars off ebay as has a mate of mine and generally you can get good ones but you have to be careful!! - make sure you look at them first and look at the persons feedback, ask questions, etc

Good luck with your search
